Hello everyone, i bought recently a powerfull processor i7-2700k, i would like to config xsplit for streaming with the same smoothness that show in stephano/empirekas streams.
I understand xsplit options, i already have set:
quality 10 Bitrate 1400 resolution 720p frame rate: 25
these are the factors most influence in a smoothness stream but i cant got the same smoothness like them.
here i give my stream link--> http://es.twitch.tv/hobbiton
if u can check any video u will see that its a good quality but not same stephano and kas.
i tried set 30fps but my pc works worst and no more smoothness, so i dont know what touch or change.
I also feel that my computer is heavy when streaming, and this should not happen with this processor, any option that I have set may be making me lose performance?

as i said there,
framerate--> 25fps Resolution-->720p` Bitrate --> 1400 Quality--> 10 preset--> xsplit default
i try too streaming with dxtory, and its works better but not like stephano and kas, his smoonthness its beautifull, i would like to reach it

Did you overclock your processor? The i7 2700k should be able to go up to 4.5 GHz with a bit of tweaking and that makes a significant difference in performance.

i didnt overclocked my PC already, just 3-4 days since i bought, i will do for sure, but i would like to know streaming smoothness ;P

Maybe you set your bitrate too high? Bitrate should be ~50% of your upload speed afaik
|
If you want really smooth FPS, using Dxtory helps a lot, though it costs $50. If you don't know what it is, it basically captures the video directly from DirectX (I think?) and sends it as a video source, rather than capturing what's in a certain screen area like XSplit.
Also, this should be in Tech Support.

i know what its dxtory, i use it too, but i mean, stephano y kas just use screen region and they got beautiful smooth fps, WHY i cant got it ???????? plz try to help me here :D

Your cpu is probably 20% faster than mine and i can stream at 60fps 720P So something is wrong in your setup. Your SC2 is windowed fullscreen and youve selected screen region and clicked inside the sc2 window right ? Not draw the region .
Also dxtory vs xsplit is totally different on setups. While some get 30fps increase others get lower. In my case xsplit is alot faster than dxtory.

you better should have posted this in the tech support forum
I would recommend using quality settings 8 or 9 instead of 10, since the difference in quality is marginal but in intense situations with a lot of units on the screen, you might drop below 60 frames depending on your graphic settings and your graphics card.
for sc2 nvidia > ati

no indication of what your upload is?

i have 50 mb down, and 5 mb up
but xsplit test bandwicht its 1400 upload
i can set 60fps in xsplit at 720p, but the result is not 60fps, i mean, i can choose any options but i cant got the smothness like stephano and kas, anyone knows them config??
|
i overclocked my i7 2700k --> 3.5 GhZ to 4.4 Ghz. i have more FPS but not xsplit smoothness, for viewers its like i have set 20-24 fps or something like that

i am wired, and i have optical fiber

This should be in tech forum.

Your vod's look awesome? Not sure what the problem here is, except for the 1400 bitrate. Besides that, it looks perfectly clear. Just would look a ton better with 3000 bitrate.
|
yeah, my vod is very good, but i mean, i want focus in the smoothness that empire.kas and stephano have in their streams? did u see them?? seems like 30 perfects fps, very smoothness !.
my stream its very good, but not like their. do you understand ?

my stream its very good, but not like their. do you understand ? You need to increase fps if you want to make it feel more smooth.
|
wrong, if i set 30 or 60 i got the same result
|
I'm pretty sure xsplit's screen region capture can't do more than 25 fps or so.
|
i tried with screen region and with dxtory, same result.
but i saw when kas minimice, that he has screen region 1920x1080, so ...?
|
What fps are you actually getting in SC2 ? Check ingame while playing. It needs to be above 60 constantly if xsplit is going to stream smooth at 60fps. Same with 30fps.
If you got enough fps then check if its setup right in xsplit. Make sure you disable Aero in xsplit (it can cause stuttering on some hardware) and that when you right click your screen in xsplit that you havent set optimize or anything.
If that doesnt help then you have a serious error with your hardware setup. Your computer is alot better than mine and i can stream perfectly at 60fps if i want. For example intel speedstep that is lowering your cpu speed in bios, although it really shouldnt its worth a try.

i have 70-80-90-100-110-120 fps streaming at start depends of map, withouth stream i can got until 250 like in entombed valley at start, lategame obviously decrease fps, but i havent problems with fps. I know each option, Aero, framerate, etc etc etc,
i just cant got the same smoothness, and i dont know what must i touch to solve it, what option i must change
|
I just watched a vod from kas and it didnt really look all that special. I cant tell a difference in smoothness from his to yours
|
yeah i just watched both and i honestly dont see much of a difference, so im not quite sure what you are referencing

Only thing that would drasticly increase your stream quality is the bitrate. With 5mb/s up you can easily put the bitrate at 3500. It would make a massive improvement.
|
Bitrate would only enhance the image quality, if you want more smoothness then fps and preset what you want to look at. Keep in mind that changing preset will take more out of your CPU. Also going 3500kbps at bitrate is fine if you are a partner with twitch, but without partner you are basicly saying to viewers that they need 3.5Mbit inbound connections and higher to view smoothly. That will eliminate many viewers.
Honestly your stream looks perfect, if u want it even faster then you need to up the fps and go lower on the preset setting. But that really shouldnt be required. 30 fps and default preset should be perfect for anyone.
|
okey guys, thx for helping me, !
|
|
Basically your stream looks fine, but you are feeling interface lag when playing, which is caused by the method of capture that you're using. If you leave your framerate at 30 and just use Dxtory to capture the game, it will feel a lot more responsive when you're playing.
