When I try to update, or uninstall, I get the message of "could not read from the file 'xsplit_patch.msi.'" No matter what I try, I haven't found a solution. I've tried downloading an older xsplit_patch.msi and using that, I've tried uninstalling using Revo unistall, manually deleting files and registry entries, running as admin, etc etc etc. Has anyone had a similar problem or can offer any solutions or advice?? I'm desperate!! Thanks for looking! | ||

iirc, Windows installer actually keeps a copy of the original .msi file in the C:\Windows\Installer folder. Basically, if you try to uninstall or update the program; Windows uses that copy of the .msi file. My guess is somehow that .msi file got deleted or corrupted. The bad news is that Windows uses an alphanemeric string as a file name, and it's difficult to identify which .msi file is for which program. Sorry for the vagueness, but it's been a while since I've had to troubleshoot Windows Installer issues. | ||

I'm going to try searching for that .msi file when I have the installation wizard open, maybe I'll get lucky! Thanks for your reply! | ||

I didn't try the force uninstall option though, as I was worried that i may not be able to broadcast at all (the old version still works...for now). Did you use the force uninstall option? | ||
