Problem with core i5 2400 and Biostar H61 MGC

olabaz United States298 Posts December 20 2011 00:08 GMT #1 Like I said a while ago, I can get power on the computer fine without the processor but once I place it in, I get power for about 1 second before it shuts off. Same thing happens when I add the CPU fan to it. The way I'm testing power is by looking at the case fan as well as the power led on the case. Both stay on without the CPU and both turn off after 1 sec with the CPU. This happened to me before and I sent back the mobo b/c I thought it was the broken pin that was causing that problem but, I just received the new one and it's still not working. Any ideas?

Can you take a picture or at least describe it, or maybe tell us the labeling on the motherboard? If you can't take a picture of it, here is an image of it. Just open it in paint, circle it, and re-upload. Also have you made sure everything that needs to be plugged in is plugged in? Here is where you need to plug stuff in. + Show Spoiler + Red - 4-pin CPU power (from the Power Supply) Blue - CPU fan (from the CPU heatsink) Yellow - 24-pin ATX (from the Power Supply) Red - SATA (for your HDD/Optical Drives) Purple - Your front panel connectors (Power button, Reset Switch, LED indicators) / USB headers go into the red ports to the left of it / Audio connector goes to the red port on the very top of the picture
