I removed the keycap and compared the switch to the number 5 and they looked the exact same so I have no idea what the problem could be. Any ideas?

I guess if you wanted you could probably repair it yourself however soldering onto PC boards isn't the easiest. | ||

Only 1k series like DK1087 or 1008 cost less by few bucks than 6gv2, but if that is "most" for you and you ignore 9k series (way better quality) then I agree. | ||
