I recently started getting in to the casting scene with a friend of mine, and we've been given an opportunity by z33k.com to start casting with them, and they want us to stream a few upcoming tournaments to see how we fare.
With streaming tournaments, it's obviously important to have a delay on the stream to prevent stream cheating. While own3d.com has a built in delay option, we'd prefer to get our stream running on Twitch.tv due to it being overall better to use, apart from that one major detail.
While Twitch itself seemingly has no delay feature, Xsplit has a feature called Multistream that does. The only thing is that when I use the Multistream delay above the default 5 seconds, my Twitch stream goes completely black. The feature works perfectly fine on own3d via the multistream, which makes it all the more confusing.
Does anyone have any idea how I apply a 30sec+ delay to the stream while still being able to use Twitch.tv and Xsplit? I've spent hours at this stage fiddling around with it, but they just don't seem to want to go together.

I think if you are a producer on twitch.tv you've got a slider for the delay on your dashboard. not sure though, just saw it on a screenshot.

There are a few options for stream delay, and the twitch.tv delay server is one of them.
Basically a delay setup is just a large buffer, it takes in your stream, stores a few seconds of it, and then spits it out to wherever you want, I'm sure if you google around you can find one that suites your needs.
The x-split multistream feature basically does the same thing, except instead of sending out to one streaming site, it sends it out to multiple ones, and of course has the option to delay, as you have noted.

Seemingly the only way to access twitch's delay server is indeed by being partnered, as Flaiker said. I made a post on Xsplit's forums and was told he could get Xsplits delay working fine on Twitch, so I guess it's an issue on my behalf. I'll try reinstalling it or something and see how that goes.

Hey Teliko i'm an up and coming caster as well and I recently have figured out how to set up a stream delay using xsplit that doesn't involve be partnered with twitch.tv
Just as CatNzHat said

The way to do this is using the multistream function on xsplit. So when you set up a new channel to use click on mutilstream then fill out the approiate information regarding your justin.tv channel(your twitch.tv and justin.tv channels are connected/the same thing) There is a box that will allow you to set up a delay once you indicate where you would like to rebroadcast your stream to. This will allow you to have a delay which is set up in seconds I have mine set up anywhere from 90-120. If you would like to see screen shots or any more information on how to set this up let me know.

This is the feature I've already been trying to use, but it just streams a black screen if I set the delay to anything beyond 5 seconds. Here's a shot of the settings I've got it under atm.
