Accidently wiped off Thermal Paste of my cooler

So recently i got my i5 CPU and while i was taking the stock cooler out i accidently wiped off some of the thermal paste... thinking it was solid so now im here in TL if i should put the cooler as it is or order some thermal paste to replace it here is a picture.

Just install it as is. If you find out temperatures are higher than you'd like it to be than order new thermal paste, wipe away existing thermal paste and apply a new layer.

Your best shot is to try to even it out and see if you can get a smooth layer where it was, if there's not enough there then you have to get some more but it's usually sold at a lot of computer stores so you don't have to wait another week for online retailers.

Note that you should remove everything with alcohol/acetone before you re-apply the new paste. And the new stuff you'll order probably is very different - you likely won't/shouldn't/mustn't apply much at all of that.

Remove the paste with 90% alcohol and some q-tips Walmart etc will have this. get some new thermal paste from bestbuy, staples, etc and apply a thin coat the same thickness as the previous paste. about the size of 1-2 pieces of paper put together.

make sure your temps are close to ambient temp. or slightly more. 85 Fahrenheit decent. or 30c

Yeah, you need a way excessive cooler to be anywhere near ambient.
