I opened my Starcraft 2 this morning to find that the 1.4 patch is out.
As do all Starcraft 2, the update automatically starts,
after the update, i see my starcraft 2 glitching and acting up on me
like so:

I logged out as soon as i can, and restarted my computer
to turn it on and see the same thing happening.
At first i thought my video card blew or something but i diagnosed it and it was working fine.
I uninstalled Starcrat 2 and reinstalled, an hour later, its still the same thing,
so i thought it would go away if i start playing, but it didnt, it got worse:

the ingame graphics is horrible to play with,
i contacted blizzard but no response as of yet.
anybody have this, with the new patch, and is there a way to fix it?

What the.. Still waiting in EU for the 1.4 patch but I hope I don't get this.
I would normally say something to do with the GPU, but you said it was diagnosed and was fine..

Even, updated all video card drivers,
tested in other games; video card works fine,
settings all the same pre-patch as well.

Buy a genuine copy of starcraft? Trololol. Just kidding  Sorry man I woulda said Gfx card playing up. But if that's all good then this is a good mystery :/

There are a lot of people getting issues like those, apparently the solution is update the VGA's drivers.

Are you running in windowed or windowed fullscreen mode? Try changing to fullscreen. If it fixes itself, you can change back to windowed and it won't come back for a while. If it does, just switch again.
Something similar has happened to me in 1.3, and thats how I manage the issue.

Could be missing/corrupt textures if its not your video card, try running the repair tool. If you installed to the default directory it should be in
C:\Program Files (x86)\StarCraft II\Support
There should be something in there called Repair.exe

i have the same problem. everything worked great until this patch. blizzard repair program didn't work. couldn't upgrade my VGA drivers, so i don't know if that fixes it

THIS HAPPENED TO ME and i dont know, i could play SC2 before patch so its def. not my laptop i did the repait sc2 and that didnt work either.
But good ol patches fix one thing break another.
Best bet is to try playing SC again in a week by then blizzard should have a fix ( i hope)

I saw this exact same glitch immediately after downloading the patch. However, after restarting everything runs fine and it hasn't occurred again. If it did this over and over I think I would go nuts lol.

Currently I don't seem to be affected. I can record fine as well (and i'm assuming that blip doesn't screw it up).
Have you tried to repair it? It looks like either a. the drivers are broken or b. the gamefiles are corrupted.
Edit: It looks like a combination of this patch + radeon drivers. I have an Nvidia card, which would explain that. Could you confirm that you are using a radeon card? If so, which driver are you using?

I had same problem after patching this morning (replay tab was also messed up). SC2 repair and reinstall didn't help, but newer video driver did. I have older video card (X1950Pro) and replacing omega drivers (catalyst 7.12) with catalyst 10.2 (last that supports my card) returned everything to normal. If you aren't using latest video driver try updating. Hope that helps.

Go to http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Legacy/Pages/radeonaiw_vista32.aspx, then scroll down and choose option 1 for the Catalyst software suite and download/install. I did that and soon as I did Starcraft was fully functional.

something like that happened to me once, I just had to reinstall starcraft. It's a bitch to wait an hour for all the patches to reinstall but it worked :/

That hasn't happened to me, but I noticed that if you hover over the league icons, that graphic glitches out. The 'shine' or whatever isn't constrained to the medal, it fills a box around the icon.
Pretty minor, but it is a video glitch so hey

So I have been getting this glitch whenever I build buildings...
It started when I installed 1.4

Well that's annoying. I haven't had any problems like that, so it must be some change in the code that affects specific video drivers. At least it's not changing anything that would be affecting your play like status bars, etc etc.

I've been getting a lot of reports of people receiving this bug. Quick poll. People who are receiving this bug, have you used any form of MPQ edit? i.e. stronger team colours, custom backgrounds, brood war sound, dark mercenary etc. If you're not getting the video error bug, obviously don't answer.

Yeah i downloaded all the drivers, even the newest one.
Even reformatted my whole computer and it took the whole day to do,
its still the same, i hope blizzard patches this soon cause i know its something with the patch.

I noticed that most the issues reported here and in the battle.net forums were cases where older vcards were used.

My graphics card is pretty new (HD 6800) and I had a weird, but different, graphics glitch too. While I was playing orange light started flashing across my screen for somewhere between 1 and 2 seconds. The only way to describe it is dancing flames. I got this error once when I was playing on my laptop too, which is obviously completely different. Still dunno why but at least it hasn't come back.
