I'm writing this with another keyboard in a PS/2 connector
I made a similar thread few months ago about the same keyboard, Tt esports Meka (Not G1, just plain Meka) and back then for an hour it used to disconnect and reconnect by itself for no apparent reason. However, the problem went away after just an hour and I didn't worry about it anymore after that.
Today, the same happened, but just in a worse manner. Every 2 seconds you could hear the 'ding-dung' sound when a USB device is disconnected. It didn't even make the reconnecting sound, just the former in small intervals. The keyboard didn't work at all, and the constant disconnecting made my PC lag so I had to disconnect it so I could move my mouse properly.
I tested my mouse in all the usb ports and they are fine, but the keyboard seems to act dumb no matter what USB port it is plugged in to, so I doubt it is a motherboard problem...
Anyways, I restarted my computer, and voila, I could write. Only for about 5 seconds... After that I couldn't write anything. This time I couldn't hear the disconnecting beep either, only if I manually plugged the device itself from the back of my computer.
I checked BIOS USB settings and it tells that the keyboard is connected, I checked the device manager from Control Panel --> System, and when I look at the keyboard properties, it also tells my keyboard is fine (My old keyboard is PS/2 connected and I could see from the properties that the USB keyboard was supposed to be working, even though it's not working at all.
Is there anything I could try to do? I don't want to go through all the process of refunding yet, only if nothing helps. -_-
By the way, my computer shuts down randomly usually 3-6 times a week, even though the temperatures are standard. It can happen anytime, even if the PC is idle, so I don't think anything is being strained... Just mentioning this also if there is any chance these two could be related.
Hardware specs:
PSU: Corsair CX500 builder series Mobo: Asus m4a77t GPU: radeon HD 5850 CPU: Athlon II x3 445 500GB samsung HDD 1 dvd drive
Thank you in advance~

Well for one, your PC should never be restarting randomly. 3-6 times a week is pretty serious (Mines been running for over 2 months without even being turned off). With that said, could you test the keyboard on another PC? Or perhaps try using the keyboard with a PS/2 adapter? (I know the G1 comes with the adapter but since you stated you have the original) I'd start by diagnosing if the keyboard itself is broken. That would entail trying it on another PC. I cant help but think there is a serious problem with other components on your PC, the keyboard might even work flawlessly.

My new rig ran for about 2-3 months fine without any spontaneous shutdowns, but they have been happening after that every now and then (5 months since I build my PC). It doesn't actually shut down, is goes off for only half a second and then reboots, but nothing will be on the screen (not posting), and then I have to manually restart it from the power button.
I think the keyboard is fine hardware-wise, so I want to know whether it could be a software problem or caused by other problems with my components, and if so, which ones....

Update: I just found out the keyboard is working on my friend's PC with XP on it, but he also tested it on his main PC with Windows 7, and the keyboard didn't work on that one.
Anyone have a clue?

I suspect that your random power failures and random keyboard failures are related. There is either an issue on the board (possibly heat related), or your Windows is being stupid (more likely than your having a virus).
Diagnose: (1) Heat issues: 3-6/week isn't frequent enough to make it easy to confirm in a short test. Essentially you record how long it stays up on average (w/o booting the OS to be thorough), then compare that time after you reseat the mobo heatsink and any other components that may be loose. If anything is obviously loose then that's almost certainly the cause. Do you notice problems when you're running graphics-intensive programs (SC2, for example?)? (2) OS: Try booting another operating system on the same hardware and see if you get better uptime and working keyboard. (3) None of the above: You may or may not have a gremlin in your PC. Also confirm that you're using the right driver if your keyboard is non-standard.

Anyone have a clue? Oh, well Win7 is probably being dumb. Confirm that the keyboard works on your hardware with another OS (try a live Ubuntu CD or something). Make sure Windows has the right drivers for you keyboard, and if it's still a problem but works in any other OS try: (a) a new keyboard, (b) a new OS. What kind of keyboard is this?

The 'bipolar' keyboard that has issues is Tt esports Meka. I hear I need specific drivers for it, but I have found nothing from their website.

Funny, if it works in XP then Win7 is probably trying too hard to do the best thing in the absence of the appropriate driver. Have you checked tech support forums on this model to see if other people have encountered this issue?
