What switch is that??

As basically everyone else said, it's a very subjective matter. I have the SteelSeries 7G with black switches and I LOVE it. It feels just perfect for gaming as well as typing and I don't feel like the buttons are "hard" to press at all. However some guy claimed he got carpal tunnel using the same keyboard which is pretty ridiculous imho, but I guess that's where the "subjective" part comes in.

It does sound exaggerated but I guess it could be possible with the combinataion of heavy typing (like 6-8 hours a day) and bad genes

Carpal tunnel syndrome has nothing to do with what your fingers are hitting.. it has everything to do with pinching your nerv on your wrist with bad posture and typing habits. Mech switches do nil to prevent repetitive stress injuries while typing like most things it has more to do with how the person is doing the activity then what equipment he is using.

The Rosewill RK-9000 uses Cherry MX Blue switches and it is OEMed by the same people who OEM the Filco boards, in fact when you look at the controller in the board, it actually says Filco.
Heres a review from geekhack:

I can tell you, without a doubt 100% black is TERRIBLE for starcraft
Black switches require infinetly more effort to use and are slow. In fact, i went from being 110apm normally to 150apm efffortlessly within a few hours of use. I seriously cant stand black anymore. Now black switches on my keyboard make me feel the same way as if i was stuck in 2nd gear while i was driving down the highway in my car.
I would even reccommend a regular membrane keyboard over black switches.
For everyone saying they like black, i would have to guess that they have not experienced other switches for starcraft. Before I tried blue, i thought the black was best thing since sliced bread.
However, in my opinion the marauder starcraft keyboard is even better than blues. The APM lighting systemis a joke, but damn, the keystrokes feel like sex on my fingers.
While you think Blacks may be terrible, I still recommend people who are looking to buy mechanical keyboards if possible to try them out. Different strokes for different folks.
For example, IdrA uses a Steelseries 6GV2 (Cherry MX Blacks) and obviously it works for him.

Unless Idra comes and tells us has extensively used all types of switches and prefers black, I refuse to belive that its the best thing for him. I also heard he uses a large mouse which also seems strange to me.

Fruitdealer uses brown and won GSL.
IdrA uses black and complains about imbalances.
Come on guys.

I got black, after taking ages to decide.
To be honest there is no real difference between the three. Anyone who tries to pretend there is a large difference in how they'll make you play, is just being vain.
The real difference is in sound, if you don't want a loud keyboard then black is a good choice. If you want a nice noise then blue is your choice.

most people who say they like black switches have never tried the rest (blue, brown, bucking springs, alps, topre). i havent met a single person who, after trying black brown and blue, have told me blacks were best for them.
if you try one out you'll find that its not as bad as some people say, but the extra weight is unnecessary and gets annoying to type on.
generally, i say for typing: blues and topre for gaming: brown and red
for sc2 i'd definitely go with brown.

Come on guys. NaDa, sAviOr, BoxeR, iloveoov won multiple osl's and msl's on cheap 10 dollar membrane keyboards pulling 300+apm in the process. Thinking a keyboard switch makes the player in any sense is just lying to yourself.
I agree 100%, just as the race car does not a Dale Earnheardt Jr. make, or the most expensive pens and pencils does not a good artist make.

Can you tell me in detail why do you prefer brown over blue for gaming ?

Yeah of course most of time you are right. I changed from membrane keyboard to mechanical and my hand gets less tired over the time because you don't need to hit keyboard that hard.
You don't need good keyboard to be good, but if you get mechanical keyboard it will better for you in someway anyways.

Your argument is pretty trash. I mean what is your selection of people with the first hand experience trying all switches, what do they do by the computer etc.
Again it's nothing more than personal experience, and it's stupid to assume that people who like their Blacks have not tried other switches.
I could type this and it would be just as bad for arguments sake:
"most people who say they like brown switches have never tried the rest (blue, black, bucking springs, alps, topre). i havent met a single person who, after trying black brown and blue, have told me brown were best for them."
I'm not saying your experience is wrong though, just that it's on a rather personal level. Maybe you're a switch marketer (or whatever) and put people to test this daily, which in case I'd say your experience would be more worthy for arguments sake, so correct me here if I'm wrong .

Uhm... it was the other way around for me tbh. I was specifically looking for a keyboard with black switches and chose the 7G. Could've easily gotten Blues or Browns as well.
