Well razer gonna be cheapest. Das gonna cost much more afaik so then better get filco if price does not matter.

I can't find a video (youtube or any other site...) where the noise of different switches are compared. I have some hesitations between a das blue or a das brown, and i don't really know which one to chose, and noise will be a factor of choice for me.

I posted comparison video in this thread. If you don't like loud keyboard definately don't go for blues.

Blue switches are a joy. I've had 'em all and blues have the best feel and sounds combo. The only "drawback" is that it is rather loud when typing.

Sorry i didn't see it first. Thanks a lot. I think i'll go with brown ones.

I think I've dropped the blacks because I want a tactile keyboard... So I think now it's between blues and browns... I am favoring blues right now because they are heavier, but they might be too loud for me.
|
Cherry MX Blue is my favorite. It is loud, but that is what I like about it. It is a very pleasant sound, and the tactile feel is what wins me over. I'd stick with Blue switches. If you dislike the sound, go with Brown switches. I'm not a fan of Black switches, personally.
|
so brown is the one with less sound?
|
gulati thanks for the advice, i think i'll try the blues, but make sure they are returnable and if they are too loud, i'll get some browns.
|
If you can get a keyboard with Reds I'd use that. If not go with Brown or Blue. Only get Blue if you want to put up with the clicking though.

Thank you guys so much for these links. I was always interested in getting a mechanical keyboard but didn't want to just throw money away on something that wouldn't work out. I will use this in the future when I get a chance.
I wonder how the Samsung DT-35 Stacks up on those lists and in that guy's video. It is a rubber dome kb, so obviously very clicky sounding and very tactile.

I think most people would say you can't go wrong with browns or blues. Blacks you may or may not like, but if there was one that you would hate it would be blacks.

Source?
Blues are more readily available in the US and EU which is a plausible explanation for it's "popularity" I guess.

One thing to keep in mind when deciding to get like a filco or daskeyboard, is that the daskeyboard is VERY glossy. You'll the smallest dust on it. But if you use the microfibre thing you get with it you can keep it clean.
It's very gorgeous though if you can keep it clean (the design).

I recently got a Filco with browns and a Ducky with blues. The blues are definately easier to get used to due to the feedback, the browns are just that much lighter aswell.

FILCO and Das Keyboard. I've owned both and both feel AMAZING.
Can't go wrong with either, and these things are tough as nails!
|
As I have posted in a few other threads, if you like the Filco and Das Keyboard for their BLUE switches, look at the Adesso MKB-135. It is half the price of the Das Keyboard, contains all the same features, looks very clean and glossy, and has a very heavy and solid build quality. For $70, getting a Cherry MX Blue mechanical keyboard is a steal. I love my keyboard.
|
If you don't like glossy keyboards like me, try out the Rosewill RK-9000. It's $100 or so on NewEgg. I love it and would recommend it.
