Pros use all three switches so theres no one real "best". For example, IdrA uses the 6GV2 (Cherry MX Black), FruitDealer and LiquidTyler use a Filco Majestouch with Cherry MX Brown switches, and I believe that Boxer may be using a Filco with Cherry MX Blue switches. Good luck.

Contrary to the above poster I actually think there is a big difference between switches aswell - read up on the different ones and go try them out and you'll find "your" switch soon enough ![]()

I'd encourage you to try them out for a bit, but if you're not used to mechanical keyboards, I don't know if you could appreciate the difference. If you want something silent, don't get the blues though.

Black: Recommended for people who are prone to typos. Pressing keys will feel like pushing down buttons. Blue: Wouldn't really recommend unless you're after clicky keyboards specifically. Stick with browns if you're after light keys. Clear: Heavier browns, hard to find. Red: No personal experience with them and they're quite hard to find. It's probably best to stick with browns and blacks in most cases.

I bought the filco blue because the feel of the browns was to "cheap" for me. now after a few weeks of practice with the filco blue my apm has increased by 50-60 apm to 200 constant now because due to the clickiness i have developed a rythmic pattern that has a very rewarding sound and so i do that all the time and my fingers got used to it now im focusing on macro more... may sound wierd but the mx blues sound has actually helped me improve!

It all comes down to personal preferences I guess.

Blues are the most popular switch by far, how did you arrive at this conclusion?
