I don't think NKRO is necessary or helpful for SC. Also, a big LOL to people who are buying a filco kb because it's what Cool uses. Don't get me wrong it's good for gaming, but much more noticeable for me when touch-typing or programming. hold your lulz sir, if people werent' buying the products the sponsors offer there would be no esports.

Your picture was a 3D graphic, not a photo. I think the artist was being lazy and the real keyboard uses keycaps like from the Cherry design documents. This was the best photo of the keyboard I could find with Google:

Indeed, that photo looks more like a normal keyboard profile. Stupid lazy artists. :-)

today i got my filco after i smashed my DAS :D. but it was a good buy, since it seems i like the brown switches a lot more then the blue ones.

Excellent work people. Elitekeyboards is now actually sold out of this model and several similar ones.

its like what day9 said
if your a runner, buying the best shoes wont make you the best
being a good runner through experience will, but then the shoes may give a slight advantage
i feel sorry for people that are horrible and expect imba sc2 results from buying top of the range keyboards.
however, i wouldnt trade this microsoft keyboard for the world <3 the keys are just like oooooh :D

I agree mostly with this, but I'm one of the people who sold out the keyboard xD
Anyways, I bought one because I'm currently at the level (mid diamond) where my keyboard is really starting to affect some of the games I play. For example, in one of my games, I thought I built a roach warren + baneling nest when I actually built 2 baneling nests, since my membrane keyboard is a piece of shit and I never know whether the key I pressed actually activated or not. (I thought the B key didn't activate when I tried to press BR, so I pressed B again, thus building a Baneling Nest) This lack of confidence in my keyboard is making me waste apm and attention on making sure I actually pressed the right things. It's a good investment if I can pay some money for a good keyboard and be done with the issue.

i ordered the keyboard because i want to try a mechanical, (never tried one out) and i'm really excited just to type on it... i think it will be a big improvement over my Logitech G15, the only reason i bought this was so i could use the macro keys back in the day when i played WOW to keep my toon from afking in bg's lol

I agree with what Day[9] said, but would also add:
1) It's important for a nurse to have good quality, well fitting, comfortable shoes, even if they don't spend their free time running. They spend all day on their feet.
2) Even a casual runner will suffer if they try to run in really crappy, ill-fit shoes or golf cleats or something. They would benefit significantly from finding some reasonably priced good quality shoes. It will make them more comfortable and less prone to injury, even if it doesn't make them run any faster.

Very good point, that happens to me sometimes. So now i basically always have to spend extra time making sure the right building is being made or if its being made at all. I would be ignorant to call buying a top of the line keyboard a "waste of money". For the things you use most in life, $100 is an extremely cheap price to pay for the Ferrari of keyboards..

Just received my Filco Tenkeyles Cherry Brown switches. So far I love this keyboard! Although when playing, it feels a lot different because I have been using the bulky Razer Tarantula keyboard and this is very tiny. Would update more once I get the hang of this keyboard in games.

I'm one of those guys that has been wanting a mechanical keyboard, but I was under the impression that they were all the size of a Model M. I wasn't even aware that mechanical switches came in Non-clicky/Tactile. Hell, I didn't even know mechanicals came in small, compact 10-keyless packages. Fruit Dealer started the perfect storm, but I did my research and didn't purchase my keyboard specifically off of Fruit Dealer alone.
Now, I have no delusions about my purchase of a Filco: It's not going to make me a better Starcraft 2 player directly. However, I do not believe that offers a larger advantage than slight for most players. The sense that I made a monetary investment will make me play harder to justify my purchase, which indirectly makes me better because my pride is on the line. Buyer's remorse is an exceptionally powerful motivator and I wouldn't be surprised to see a player go past his former expectations.
That being said, yeah, you're not going to be Fruit Dealer if you use his keyboard, but motivation is somewhat hard to come by in Starcraft 2 when you're in gold and not movin'.

so i bought the steelseries 6gv2 because i wanted to try out a non membrane keyboard. so far it feels pretty good but will take some time for me to adjust having to hit the keys harder to register.
i went with the 6Gv2 because i heard the switches on the black are more quiet then the browns so i'll see how this goes
(btw i bought it more for touch typing as i spend most of my time at the desk rather then gaming. i suppose the extra comfort and the nkey thing is an added bonus. so if u type a lot it isnt a bad investment even if you dont get gosu at sc2)

Yeah, I remember seeing Tester with a Filco too. Not sure what switches it has though, since I never saw the LED color. Also, if I'm not mistaken, Check has the Pink (!) version of it; http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/showthread.php?p=45658910
I don't blame him for dropping some cash on that KB/mouse, though; it's a fantastic setup -http://yfrog.com/4bmouseandkbj
Now, if only I can figure out how to not suck with them and I'll be golden!

His mouse looks funky. Why the weird bump between the palm and the fingers?
You can't feel the bump, even if you palm the mouse. This type of shape on a mouse seems to work better for claw/fingertip grips anyway. I have the G9X now, replacing a VX Revolution from way the hell back, and the shape works incredibly well for hours of use on end doing anything and everything. The mouse is still too expensive, no matter how awesome it is, but I digress...
