And will there be ram (with heat spreaders) space issues on an ASRock Z68 PRO3 LGA for either the Gaia or 212+?

Is that common for MIRs to not honor them? And will there be ram (with heat spreaders) space issues on an ASRock Z68 PRO3 LGA for either the Gaia or 212+? As far as I know the MIR offer is pretty new and it usually takes them a while, so the newegg complainers probably just haven't waited enough.

This is just one source (and btw to others who bash Tom's: give some legitimate reasons or BeQuiet) Compare the 2, the gaia is on the 1st and the 212+ is on the 2nd with the same setup. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/cpu-cooler-heatsink-roundup,2788-10.html http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/lga-1156-heatsink,2535-15.html

Keep in mind that noise is a function of the fan control you set, among other things. CM Hyper 212+ fan goes up to 2000 rpm while the Xigmatek Gaia fan goes up to 1500 rpm max, and they're not extraordinarily different designs on significantly different heatsinks, so of course the 212+ fan is louder when given similar controls. But the results do imply that if you run the Hyper 212+ fan at similar speeds to get similar noise levels, you will get worse performance than the Gaia.

With data transferred at 64 bits per module DDR3 gives a transfer rate (memory clock rate) × 4 (for bus clock multiplier) × 2 (for data rate) × 64 (number of bits transferred) / 8 (number of bits/byte). I understand the x2 for DDR and x64 as well as the /8 to convert from bits to bytes, but why do you multiple by 4? What exactly is the bus clock multiplier? edit: nvm, I think I've got it. DDR3 just has a x4 multiplier of its base memory clock rate just the way a CPU has a multiplier x 100ish MHz or whatever it is to get the actual effective clock rate advertised, no? When you go from 1333MHz to 1600MHz etc the base memory clock is just being increased, while the clock multiplier always stays at x4?

What is your budget? About $800 What is your resolution? 1920x1080 What are you using it for? Mostly gaming and light photoshopping What is your upgrade cycle? Not for the next couple years When do you plan on building it? ASAP Do you plan on overclocking? Nope Do you need an Operating System? No Do you plan to add a second GPU for SLI or Crossfire? I know I didn’t include a case but I’m still looking for one. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. If you're not overclocking, you do not need a Z68 motherboard. Just pick a H61 or H67 motherboard such as the U3S3: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157236 You also do not need an aftermarket heatsink as the provided Intel heatsink will be more than adequate. You also do not need a 700w power supply and Coolermaster is also sort of shit. The Antec Neo Eco 520C for $40 (w/ promo code EMCJJJE44, ends 11/21 would be the best choice for new configurations that won't be overclocking or doing SLI/CrossfireX right now: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371030 For memory, these are less expensive and are better (even if you can't use them at its rated speed with the H61 or H67 motherboard though you don't have to worry about this because the difference is negligible): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231314

And looks imo but Merc has black interior, a 2.5" drive bay, supports 320mm graphics cards, almost completely toolless, good cablerouting, good build quality with no sharp edges, interior painted black Especially supporting 320mm cards and being practically toolless and having a 2.5" drive bay are totally sick features for a 40$ case. Also seems to be 2-3 degrees better than NZXT Source 210 in cooling.

Also has cablerouting behind mobo. But it's not like I care about either case. I mean I appreciate your effort and I don't usually question you, and I just asked because I thought you already did the research and knew, but please at least post accurate info

2.5" drive bay, marginally better cooling, better build quality and looks aren't enough? Like if you asked me why I would recommend Fractal Design Core 1000 as the only alternative to BitFenix Merc and you asked me why, what could I say? It has better build quality and imo looks better. It's not like Source 210 is bad, it's totally functional case, but I think it's just not as good. Can Source 210 fit 160mm coolers?
