Since everyone is mentioning their headphones instead of suggesting best ones ill do that as well :D Ive been using Sony MDR-CD280 for the past 7+ years and they never ever broke down, they look ugly but they are really durable, and this comes from a person that doesn't take good care of his stuff.
Audio quality wise they have a nice surround and bass, and a good sound overall, maybe on higher volumes quality drops a bit, but i'm not an audioholic so it don't find it bothersome.
They are comfortable, sometimes i even forget i'm wearing them when going afk (this lead to some rough cable abuse, but it hasn't snapped yet)
Their price (i think its ~20$ nowadays) is too low for the overall awesomeness they bring, i love them so much <3

senheisers are overpriced I love mine. Best headset ever as far as comfort goes, and they look amazing as well. The sound is fine, though my needs as an SC player are less exacting than those of an FPS gamer. I had a 5H V2 before this, and the Siberia v2 is definitely the better option.
lol you guys...
Aren't you sponsored by Steelseries?

I have a icemat sibera still works no longer use it though it frankly it was ultra conformable even though it pushed my ears in, but my ears are large and stick out quite a bit so that could easily be just a me thing.
I would have replaced it with a steel series sibera v2 except i got my icemats for 50 bucks, why would i spend 100 bucks on a non surround sound gaming headset. So i got a G35 for 90 bucks.
I wish every gaming headset had the headband system used for the sibera series i love that no adjusting needed.

We are but I wouldn't endorse if if I didn't like it. I always get headaches w/ extended headset usage because of the way they fit and I don't have that issue with the Siberia v2 (did with the 5h like others , but not as bad). It's extremely comfortable for long gaming sessions which is what most of us need.

The EG guys are lucky to be sponsored by them.
Question for those of you that have the V2's and have experience with the V1's. Did the change in ear upholstery make a difference in comfort? I really liked the soft material that was used in the original IceMat version, it didn't squeak or rub.
Also, to those that say Bose are overpriced aren't quite looking at it the same way as some audiophiles do, they had some over-ear ones I bought from work with discount at about 80 dollars and I still have them and use them religiously for my music. They are completely noise isolating even with my glasses on. However the buckles that hold each earpiece on isn't made of steel, so a bike crash means I need to superglue it back on.

I would hope they use the same felt or w.e it is they used to line the top and ears of it.
If you can get them for like 60-70 i would get them but at 100 it's a hard sell when i could get more capable gaming headsets.
Although you can use the sibera's for your mp3 player too if you have the balls for such huge headset to lug around vs an in ear kind of set up.

That's the one with the clip on mic which i never cared for too much lol i just used my webcam mic instead of the clip on.

AD700's + Logitech USB Mic is what I use.
I've tried various cheap headsets and the G35, and ended up choosing nice headphones and a desktop mic in the end.

Did you mod the mic into your headset? I'm looking to pick up an AD700, but I can't find a good mic to mod it with.

I don't currently own a Siberia v2, I have tried and tested them out and borrowed a pair before. I know that every progamer uses them from quake, cs, starcraft, and the list goes on. The only people who use sennheisers are pro xbox video gamers because they have a shorter list of sponsors and use them because 1) they get them free 2) they have the MLG logo (oooooh). For games that sound really matters such as quake, those players aren't binded by sponsorships to use the product, if there is a product that they know is better and will make that difference between winning and losing, they will use the other product. I currently use the creative fatal1ty headset because it was on sale when my previous headphones broke, for only 25 bucks, and for that price it really couldn't be beat at the time. The detachable microphone is nice because having attached microphones that you constantly move up and down on the headset causes the change in the wires which will lead to breakage, I know that that is why most microphones on headsets break. The microphone quality is nice, the sound quality is nothign special, but if i can turn it loud and quiet when i need it then it suits my needs. Nevertheless, if money were not an option I would still pick the steelseries siberia v2 as my headset of choice.
If you used the search function you would notice there are thread asking for advice on headphones.
When a thread has lots of posts consisting of "I have XXX and they are the _BEST_". Then something is not working.

edit2: I just re-read your post:
You said sennheiser is overpriced, but you are defending Siberias and you have a fatal1ty headset LMAOOOOOOO.
You sure are one to talk about headphone quality.
If you want a good pair of headphones, don't listen to the guy I just quoted.

Oh, I was using a desk mounted mic because I wasn't a fan of the lapel mic.
Still the most comfortable headphones I've ever owned.
