Or do you guys know a best headset?
Can't speak for the Logitech, but I've had a Megaladon for well over a year now and it's fantastic. The sound is AMAZING, it's super comfortable, and the mic is crystal clear. The only (minor) issue in my opinion is the super long cord; if you don't have some distance between your PC and the maelstrom control-thing there will be lots of extra cord. The cord is also threaded, making it very flexible and less likely to have the wires damaged.
Not sure if it matters, but I'll mention for the sake of others asking about the Siberia V2: I have one still, and I can say atleast on my behalf that the Megaladon is much better by a large margin. The mic and sound quality are much better, and although the V2 is very comfortable, I find that the Megaladon is even more comfortable (possibly because I have a big head LOL).
I don't know much about other headsets, but I can atleast confidently state that the Megaladon is a fantastic headset. I've yet to have any problems with it, and it's going on 1+ year(s) strong.

Steelseries Siberia v2. I've had my v1 for almost three years now and I've got nothing bad to say about it. Price is fairly cheap and they are comfortable even in the long run and provide good audio and mic.
But how come this thread is still alive? I though that OP would had found his headset by now. Or is this just a general debate about semi-cheap headsets?

I have the Steelseries Siberia v2, the mic could be better but they're a great headset.

A forum mod closed my thread and linked this one so yeah, this thread is for headset's talk.

I'm trying to find a new headset:
Criteria:
Decent microphone(don't use for talking a lot but still need a decent one for when i do) Good sound quality(More important than microphone) Around 100 dollars max(will go a little over if needed) Wired (so i don't have to recharge)
I've been looking at the Corsair CA-9011112-WW Vengeance 1500 Dolby 7.1 USB Gaming Headset and SteelSeries Siberia V2 Full-Size Gaming Headset.
Please I need a few recommendations and why they are a good pick.
-Thanks for the help :D

I have a Sennheiser HD 598, but as previously stated, they are quite expensive (I got mine from my work) But there are probably no "best" headphones. If you want a great set of headphones, you should not see it as "I'm losing money", instead, see it as an investment.

Siberia v2. Good Headset. Guess most Sennheiser "GGGGGGAMING" stuff is overpriced. Their Headphones are decent though. But i recommend an HP-AMP with Sennheiser HD HiFi HP.

Hey guys... Little backstory...
I've bought 2 or 3 Razer Carcharius Headsets, and one steel series 5v v/2 headset. I'm not a very big audiophile, but I do appreciate good sound.
The steelseries headset was terrible. It sounded like trash, and broke after a year or so. My razers sounded good, to me at least, but also broke a couple of years in.
But all my headsets broke in the same way: wire messed up causing the left/right speaker to go out. Maybe it's my fault because I have to be an angel with my wires, but regardless.. My steelseries just broke and I'm looking to replace it.
I was looking at the sennheiser hd 558 ( http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-558-Headphones/dp/B004FEEY9A/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1348646672&sr=1-4&keywords=sennheiser hd )
I was wondering... does anyone have a better suggestion than this headset? One of the main things I love about it is that it has a replaceable wire. That's freaking PERFECT for me.
I also had a question. Would I need to get a headset amplifier for it, or can the power from my sound card drive it? The impedance is 50 ohms.
Thanks.

I am wearing the Sennheiser 558 right this second. I find them to be very good all-purpose headphones. They aren't a "headset" because they have no mic, but i acutally prefer using a table mic anyways.
The headphones are very well made, they feel very sturdy and robust. I wear them around 6 to 8 hours every day, since i work in a pretty noisy environment, thanks to some construction sites outside of my window.
I use them for listening to music (bassy music like DnB, Jungle among others), i watch movies and i play games with them.
The soft velours covers of the earparts and the headstrap adapt very quick to your body temperature and often times i completly forget that i'm wearing them at all. They are also relatively light in weight.
There are of course better headphones on this planet, no doubt about it. But as long as you are using your on-board standard soundchip as the source it makes almost no sense to pay 500+ bucks for a super high end headphone. Of course if money is out of the equasion you can go for the Beyerdynamic T1 or for the Grado GS1000i for example.
But if the money/value relation is considered, go for the HD558s. They are awesome

Sennheiser is the best low budget (~100$ and lower) brand.
Their quality is outstanding and although I have been thinking of trying a Siberia v2, I often read that they wear out after 1 or 2 years... (the cables that is).
I played counter-strike for 10 years, every day. In 2010 I switched to starcraft, almost daily.
My low budget Sennheiser PC 151, I bought in 2002 for 70 euro's and it gave me great sound and great allocation (relative to the cost). Fact is, it still works perfect!! After 10 years .... Incredible imo!

Welp, that time of year again. Looking at buying a new headset to replace my now nearly-destroyed G930's. However at current prices, is there a better bargain than the G930's (currently listed at $80)? Ideally something with an attached mic, wireless is nice to have but really more of a luxury I wouldn't mind giving up for better sound quality.

@Bam Bam
Traditionally gaming headsets are pretty mediocre headphones mixed with a pretty mediocre mic and a great paint job. A lot of people bought audio headphones (not marketed at gamers/suckers) with a cheap desk mic to get around that problem - better mic & headphones for less price.
A few years ago, Kingston bucked the trend by rebranding legit headphones and throwing a mic on them: the HyperX Cloud. Which everyone reviewed as "oh shit, gaming headphones that actually sound good!" I bought them; they're pretty good. I don't know if other headset companies have done the same since then. Probably not. Note that like many headsets, if you have a big head they're a bit tight/heavy. Probably not as heavy as the g930 though.
As I recall g930s were fairly well reviewed themselves for sound quality, though no so much for build quality. And they're wireless if you see that as a positive. Both the clouds & the g930s also come with their own USB sound card, so that's good.
So, really, the other two options I'd mention would be headphones w/o a mic (using a desk mic) or Kingston Hyperx Cloud (both I & II are based on the same Tak 80 headphones as I recall).

Just bought one of these after researching price wise and reviews, seemed the best to offer atm. I'll give full review once I get them.

This thread confused me even more about what to buy. So many different opinions. Anyways anyone owned sennheiser pc 363d and hyperx cloud II? Which ones are better?
