So, I'm planning on buying a new gaming headset with mic, as my mic broke earlier this week. I was wondering what are your suggestions, I'm hoping for a not so expensive one ,but it has to last sometime, because I've had one that broke within a month. Thank you all, and would highly appreciate it.

Terrible suggestion.

If you can stretch the cash a little, sennheiser PC161/160's are great.

I've had my "plantronics USB 645" ones for some time now, overall satisfied with them. Sound/mic quality is good, and they are only 60$ over here. Its kind of an improved version of logitech headset, comfortable altough it gets hot on the ears during long sessions. Has some volume adjustment thingy too, which is great -_-

I dont buy the huge ones, they seem to ALWAYS break due to strain.

I've gone through my share of cheap headsets ($30-$40) and these are the best ones I've found in that price range. My roommate and I have been using this one for almost a year now with no problems. Sound quality is good (mic and headphones), although I'm no audiophile. Big ear cups makes it comfortable, doesn't make your ears sore after a long gaming session. Very sturdy mic as well.

Sennheisers aren't overpriced, they're just too high end for most people. Also people plug those on onboard sound cards and wonder why the sound is so weak.

Having used HD555's and currently owning HD650's myself I can tell you they're not overpriced. You do get what you pay for. Especially the HD555's now. They're fairly cheap and give better sound than almost anything in their price range, granted they're not really for gaming. As for their gaming stuff, it's all pretty decent for the prices. It's just not for everybody.

The PC161/160 are great. =)

I've tried the Astros A40s, Senheisers PC350, Tritton AX Pro and the new Turtle Beachs.

The Senheisers PC350 surpasses everything and is well worth the price.

However I have yet to try the new headphones Razer released. I doubt they will beat the PC350.

The HD555 and HD595 remains my personal favorite to this day (even though I admit PC350's are better). The HD555 are pretty munch the best open world gaming headset, ideal for tournaments and LANs for team based game where communication is key.

Seinheisser HD 600's had then for years and years and years they sound quality is still better then anything else even close to its price range. You basically need to start spending triple the price to get something just equal to them imo.

Ofc the cable goes but you can replace that replaced mine once for like $10 and the cushions have finally gone a bit after so many years but gonna replace those soon too.

Edit: For my mic I use the Logitech USB Microphone which has noise cancelling in built. So so good. Its so good I can blast music out of my speakers and near magically it still only pics up my voice directed towards it.

I got the Creative Fatality headset on sale. They are extremely comfortable and have a good mic sound quality. The audio quality isn't as good, but I don't need that.. I have my 5.1 logitech set for music.

That's because they're sponsored by Steelseries. That's how they get every gamers to buy their crap.

Nope. I just use the Razer Moray. Canada computers have it for $40. You would probably needed really good headphones for FPS games.

Audio-Technica is a high quality brand not many people know about. I own a pair of their AD700's and they are great.

PC350's are good also, $120 on Amazon

+1 Astro A40, been going strong for two years now. The entire headset is solid as a rock.
Downside: kinda pricey.

I've a pair of audio-technica ath-a700s
they're pretty terrible tbh, with a preamp or otherwise. I can't really recommend AT equipment..
Sennheisers are a little overpriced for the quality, but for a gaming headset you can't really get better than PC350s for a decent price.
