I don't currently own a Siberia v2, I have tried and tested them out and borrowed a pair before. I know that every progamer uses them from quake, cs, starcraft, and the list goes on. The only people who use sennheisers are pro xbox video gamers because they have a shorter list of sponsors and use them because 1) they get them free 2) they have the MLG logo (oooooh). For games that sound really matters such as quake, those players aren't binded by sponsorships to use the product, if there is a product that they know is better and will make that difference between winning and losing, they will use the other product. I currently use the creative fatal1ty headset because it was on sale when my previous headphones broke, for only 25 bucks, and for that price it really couldn't be beat at the time. The detachable microphone is nice because having attached microphones that you constantly move up and down on the headset causes the change in the wires which will lead to breakage, I know that that is why most microphones on headsets break. The microphone quality is nice, the sound quality is nothign special, but if i can turn it loud and quiet when i need it then it suits my needs. Nevertheless, if money were not an option I would still pick the steelseries siberia v2 as my headset of choice.

First of all, Senheisers are not affiliated with MLG and does not have any MLG logos on any of their headphones. Astro does. I think you confused the two. Senheisers's roots are audiophile and studio headphones for recording artists. With time, they included gaming headphones to their line-ups. Astro however, is the brand linked with MLG that focuses only on gaming headphones (they offer only two models, the A30s and A40s). Secondly, MLG does not forced any of it's player to wear any brand of headphones. At tournaments, most kids have Astros because like you said they have the MLG logo on them and they don't know any better. Some top teams like Triggers Down used Senheisers PC350 for a few tournaments and eventually switch back to Astros (maybe Astros offered them some money or something, I don't know. The reason Senheisers PC350s and Astros A40s are used so munch at MLG tournaments is because Halo 3 is a game of communication, where you gotta communicate constantly with your team to have a shot at winning. In game sound is also very important as in every FPS. These two headphones are simply THE BEST AVAILABLE closed-world headphone that has microphones included. In my opinion, the Senheisers PC350 are light years ahead of the Astros A40 in every possible aspects. Some tournament players still prefer open-world headphones that allows you to clearly hear the game as well as sounds from your environment in the real world. This is just a preference, they prefer to shout to their teammates instead of using the microphones provided by closed-world headphones. The best open-world headphones are definitely the Senheisers HD555 and HD595. They used to be the most popular but nowadays you mostly see Astros A40s and Sen's PC350s. Just wanted to clear that up. Of course for Starcraft and other games where you do not need 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound, microphone or open-world headphones a lot more other headphones becomes more viable. However in terms of sound quality, no other gaming headphones can touch the Senheiser's PC350. However, many non-gaming headphones designed for audiophiles and studio recording artists surpasses the PC350's in term of audio quality but we're talking 400$-600$+ headphones.

Comfort: 5hV2's were not very friendly when it came to comfort, I wear glasses and they made me want to tear them off and throw them across the room. This was back when I still played competitive CS 1.6/CSS. IceMat Siberias, 1st gen were the most comfortable headphones I have ever owned and regretted selling them. It looks like SteelSeries has changed the material on the earpieces but it should still be extremely comfortable because of the band design they use. PC350's are much more comfortable than the 5h's but not quite as comfy as the Siberias. Sound: 5h's had no bass to them at all, were all treble which was nice to hear footsteps in CS but that was the only bright side. Siberia's had no rocking base either but still sounded immaculate, I was using a creative x-fi card in my machine back then and it was a nice fit. PC350's best sounding headphones I have ever owned. Period. Make sure to take care of your stuff and it will last long. (This is all opinion and personal experience.)

Anyway, they're about to finish falling apart and I'll never buy another Razer headset. The keyboard I have is fantastic and I've loved both of my mice (copperhead and now a Lachesis), and will continue to buy their keyboards and mice... I just won't ever buy another headset from them. Whoever suggested Bose does not know the meaning of the word "value" and has overpaid massively for their headphones. Avoid bose. Avoid Monster. Sennheiser are a little overpriced but are quite good. I'll be getting the steelseries siberia V2, probably.
