He is pretty awesome. | ||

Wtf dude, he's probably the only Blizzard guy who looks genuinely passionate and knows how to express that passion to the audience without fakeness others have (*cough* Dustin *cough*).

I would also like to say that it seems quite clear to me why they dropped Glynnis. According to imdb http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0848087/ she hasn't done any voice acting work for 9 years. Moreover its 11 years since the last time she did SC. Someone who comes back after over 10 years out won't be able to offer the same quality of other actresses doing voices on a day to day basis. Im certain Blizzard wouldn't have dropped her unless they had a decent reason. They would have been very aware of the controversy it would cause. Anyway I will reserve final judgement until the game is out but my expectations are high.

Karen Strassman, at least if the latest rumours are to be believed. http://starcraft.incgamers.com/blog/comments/the-new-voice-of-kerrigan/ http://kotaku.com/5335537/is-this-the-new-voice-of-starcraft-iis-kerrigan I don't know how I feel about this, she seems good but her Kerrigan (the last part of the MP3 below) seems... I don't know, less menacing? Maybe it's just a natural prejudice against anything that isn't the original actress. Anyhow, judge for yourself: http://www.karenstrassman.com/audio/videogames.mp3 EDIT: She's obviously very good, I think it's mostly just nostalgia making me feel weird about it. Nice edit. After watching the actors panel I completely agree that all the actors and especially the director are and will continue doing a great job for the single player campaign.

It might spoil the campaign... so your own risk here + Show Spoiler + "The story follows the events happened in "StarCraft: Brood War". There is a new threat caused by an ex-terran Samir Duran. The remains of the Terran forces must gather and ally the Protoss against the infected Zerg army. Another plot line follows Jim Raynor, a marshal, who has to confront the Zerg queen - Kerrigan, with the help of the dark templar Zeratul. Yet, another hero from the past is about to revive for the second time.. The final battle of good and evil is about to take place.." I didn't read this before? + Show Spoiler + I guess Fenix will be back? because he was a zealot once, Died, and became the dragon. Died. and which unit is next Immortal (maybe that is where the name is based on)?? :o

Great talent with a big ego, I'm sure you've already seen this trait with other artists. With infinite respect for his work, I can't help but wonder how his head can fit through the door when I watch him talk.

I think it's just your imagination, because I don't see the whole "big ego" thing with Metzen. Nothing wrong with being passionate and proud of your work.

It's hard to compare with the previous actress since I don't remember her voice too much and she never said anything in multiplayer in SC1, but I think that this Kerrigan ''mine more minerals'' is way more annoying than the old ''Spawn more overlords'' could have ever been. And Metzen, I always thought the guy was really cool and he did so much for Blizzard, it was such a disapointment to find out he seems like a douche with a gigantic ego. It was still great when he did an impression of the SC1 voices. And yeah, it was really funny seeing him try to impress Tricia on the panel. I don't think he was just doing impressions.... And he seemed really cool I'll agree with one of the other posts above mine he really seemed to care about the story of Starcraft.

I cant even see/sense this big ego thing you're on about, but regardless - if I did I wouldnt care. What's wrong with having a big ego if you're not hurting anyone? I sense jealousy. I hate jealousy. You can however see on the way he's talking that he has so much to say and so much he want to express that it just cant fit. I'm quite certain that his IQ is extremly high. (sidenote).

He's said several times in his interviews things like the battles Fenix and Zeratul engaged in together were not fleshed out in the lore at all, it was just something he decided to include in passing, never expecting to elaborate. He's done this a lot in Warcraft lore also, as well as misremembering a lot of events that took place in the games or the stories. Prime example of this: the Draenei race being Eredar who used to be evil but actually were never evil, they were corrupted, and the ones that were corrupted mutated. Pretty much everything lore-related has to go through him, so when he just wants to make something up without any foundation he can do it, regardless of whether it breaks continuity. He might have a big ego for that, but he openly apologized for that ret-con in WoW
