I think its a matter of choice, and that team is for semi-retired players at this point. do not call them semi retired! that is a disgrace to their efforts. I'm sure they are trying their best to qualify and be "pro" in your eyes again but it takes time to reach your full form after military... it took classic over a year, and many players much longer or could never come back. it's not easy.

I mean, they are semi-retired. Freecs let the team choose if they wanted to play in WTL last season and the players decided they didn't want to. I can only speak for soO, but he really didn't play much StarCraft between the first two GSL qualifiers—playing in online events isn't really a good hourly rate considering you have to deal with players like Dark, Cure, herO etc who are better than soO, Stats, TY at the moment. I spoke to soO and he's gonna push harder to qualify Season 3 and I would think the other Freecs players will do the same given the fact that they're participating in WTL (if they qualify).

I don't want to go into full debate mode, but that doesn't sound like they are semi retired. Not wanting to play the weeklies because you will get smacked is understandable.

Yeah, but those other players played a ton of turnaments The Freecs Crew (and other recent military returnees like TY and Inno) just don t realy show up anywhere. It s to a point where you wonder, if they even still practise, or allready moved on to a post esport career

Classic was playing tons of tournament, and get eliminated early, before he getting back into form this year. I know it sucks to get smacked by the top guys in weekly cup but thats how you getting back into form. And TY/Stats was looking very decent in their GSL appearance as well, so there should be no concern for them to play in the weekly. Soo also look good upon his return last year, but then hes not showing up since later last year till now. I am totally fine with these legends taking their time to do whatever they want and how they want to do it. But from a fan and viewer point of view, they are just not active at the moment.

If their members were all spread out or teamless and not playing various online tournaments there’d be more cause for concern IMO I mean Classic is probably the world’s best Protoss as things stand, TY is already not just qualifying for GSLs but being very competitive in them.
