Personally, I'm rooting for an SC2 RTS obviously... but I'm not as optimistic anymore.
After talking to an acquaintance who works for Blizzard, he confirmed that any employee found to leak information regarding the May 19th announcement would be violating NDA's they've all signed and would be fired. But all he WOULD say is, "I LOVE SC, and I LOVE MMORPGs " Yes, with the wink. So unless he is trying to mislead me, which i doubt, then implications are that it is an SC MMORPG game.
If you think about it, it makes sense from a financial standpoint (if u believe Blizzard cares about $$): WoW being their biggest cash cow of all time, why not use the same lucrative mmorpg format formula for the even more popular SC universe?
I'm not an expert on the Havok Physics Engine, but as food for thought i'm wondering if this will have any impact on the type of game they are announcing. Seems that it was primarily used for Halo2, HalfLife2, and Age of Empires3. So unless the only reason why they licensed it was to port for the Mac, then i'm guessing SC:Ghost or SC2 RTS are still distinct possibilities. So i'm still maintaining some hope for SC2 RTS. http://www.havok.com/content/view/371/53/
sidenote: IMO .999... INFINITELY approaches the value of 1, but never actually equals 1. and i stand by that.

Did anyone else hear the rumor of an Infested Terran race? would be wierd since the campaigns refer to a Protoss/Zerg hybrid race, which IMO would be cooler.
|
but how would that make sense? they just got a WoW expansion out and it would diminish the sales from it, whereas if it was a rts or other type of game they could hopefully get more people who buy both than if they were both mmorpg. Who knows though

A Starcraft-MMO dont make sence. First of all a well made MMO has a length of maybe 10 years. It doesnt make sence to do another MMO. My second point is if a Starcraft-MMO were made they would compete against each other, WoW vs WoS. And for the third, it takes alot to do a MMO, ALOT of resources. Its risky buisness. They wont release a Starcraft-MMO on saturday, trust me.

With 1.15 release I think it will be a new franchise =/

I think the most important think to consider here is that they are announcing this at the WWI in KOREA.
Diablo is negligible in Korea. Warcraft is small. Starcraft is huge.
It will seem like a snub in the Koreans' faces if they don't announce a Starcraft related game.

It seems like that too me as well...obvious in fact. It took about 15 seconds to realize "Hmmm they are announcing a game in korea....starcraft is huge in korea....what could it be? Oh I know, those Koreans are HUGE diablo players"

1.15 is out. It's to distract us, right?
|
To get everyone back into the game, I was actually going to install it and test it out, maybe they want a big crowd to come back to announce something, but who knows..

|
1.15 could mean that theyre either setting the system up for SC2, or softening the blow of not getting SC2.
|
1.15 could mean they're releasing ghost and as to cool the sc fans as much as possible since no sc2 theyre pretending to actually give us what we want.
