This is why you have a forum star, because instead of turning away you choose to wade through the bullshit. In a perfect world caster criticism would break down into 3 categories. I'll provide examples below.
Technical: (if you feel that you must correct what a caster said) iNcontrol, I noticed you said Flash opened up two fact and even though it was fast you could see that he pulled his third scv off the gas once he started his first factory and actually went for fake double. Hope this helps for next time!
Content: I know that both caster are protoss and protoss has been getting a lot of heavy focus in the last 3 games. Could you please try and show a little more zerg/terran action for those of us who want to learn about not so awesome races?
Personal: iNcontrol, lately you've been extremely game focused. Every now and then it'd be great to hear about during game luls. or the opposite iNontrol, lately we've been hearing a lot about you, but not much about you co-caster. Could you throw out some leading questions so we can get to know x-caster better?
From working with major businesses like Boeing I've had to learn how to be constructive in every comment I make. I'd be curious if you'd make tweaks to any of the above so it comes off better.
100000000000% correct. Not only is this preferred it is welcomed by myself and most of my peers I feel comfortable speaking for. If someone doesn't prefer the way I do my work and wants to express that like the above WHO AM I to be like.. "No! you MUST prefer my joking style!" but when someone is just like "yeah, I wish he wasn't there." They could very well MEAN exactly what you're saying but by not communicating it fully it just hurts and is empty of value beyond that.
People are so damn quick to be like "nah man, it's the internet I can be as mean and vague as I want" but then whenever someone is like "That sucks!" they get defensive about it? Put more effort into it and you won't upset people.. if someone wants to explain in a constructive manner why they aren't favorable or prefer someone else that sits SO much better.
Anyways I suspect a lot of people know this but the standard defenses are "don't tell me how to post!" even when the discussion is "please don't feel free to shit on me!"
Ty for expressing this btw
But you know, when people type criticism of people, they don't necessarily expect the person you're criticising to read it. Like if I don't like Trump, and I'm talking to a friend, I likely to not give an explanation of that depth, because it's just not worth my time, and I just want to get my thoughts out, and I might say: "Fuck Trump", or "he doesn't respect women, fuck him". People aren't so much into academic discussion when they are kicking back in relaxing, so particularly in places like LR threads where if a commentator says something stupid they'll just say "wtf is he high", and so on. Yeah, this is public, and a friend's conversation isn't, but most people treat it in much the same way.
So while I agree with you and BisuDagger that it'd be cool and all if everyone was able to talk in these ways, and maybe some places on the internet are immune to it because of harsh moderation, posting standards, whatever... But in most places that's just not possible, so I think thick skin + realizing supporters stay quiet while haters speak loudly is what you imo gotta do to keep a positive mental attitude.
Honestly, I don't get it. The post that got InControL so worked up was a guy who plainly said that he likes Wolf more than him. So does InControL really think that people should not be allowed to have preferences for some casters? Or that everyone is obliged to prefer him? The "provide only constructive criticism" angle is silly, this is fucking entertainment, the viewers are expected to just personally like some casters more than other, by pure matter of taste and they do not need any logical argument for that. I agree that when people say "caster X is shit" without any qualification, that it is pretty awful and should be frowned upon, but that's not what happened. I still like InControl's casting as I have for many years (and I have always said that), but this entitled behavior really makes me like him less. I particularly hate the line of thinking "I am doing this out of passion, so you owe me respect", which is just a spoiled princess attitude - kinda surprising of InControL himself, the king of inappropriate humor.
As for the guy who said that TB and InControl are in only to grab attention though (to which TB reacted on his slightly silly "I am not on TL anymore" account), yeah, that one was an asshole and deserves to be beaten to death by a top hat.

Are you actually surprised that incontrol says things like that? He has always been this way. That's why the American spectators like him so much
More casters - the better. I don't always like Incontrol humor but... Overall he is fine caster I think, and obviously a professional. I would prefer double elimination bracket with more days of play and more games so we can experience every caster as much as we can. The only downfall of blizzcon I think, not enough starcraft that is
Bring us a good show! That's all what we're hoping for
Maybe for the last time indeed (for me at least, sc2 viewer from WOL).

Totally agree with you. There was no insulting. He was just stating that he prefers a person over another.
There should be a competition for caster teams as well. After match they commentate, people in audience can assign them between 1 and 10 scores :D After each round of competition one casting pair is out. Best one gets to commentate the finals
I can't wait for Tastosis, BiscuitControL and Toderdam! The rest of the casters are great too, but really hoping to see some casting from those 3 pairings. :D

Yeah it's a shame so many games have to be played off the mak stage. Hopefully someone casts them and they post the vods. I can't rember who said it but I think some caster mentioned that some of the most epic games of sc2 have probably already happened but have gone totally unnoticed since they were played off stage, or in practice, or on ladder.

All games will be live and casted. Blizzard started doing an opening weekend the week before Blizzcon to do the opening stages of tournaments. For SC2, all these players really only qualified for the Global Playoffs. They haven't formally made it to Blizzcon itself until they make it out of the group stages.
4, 4 man groups with 2 WCS circuit and 2 WCS Korea players in each group. GSL style Double elim.

I would never trade iNcontroL for Nickelback though. <3

It's definitely NOT the last Blizzcon. You probably meant last SC2 major at Blizzcon, which is extremely unlikely as well.

Agreed, I would bet any amount of money that WCS and the WCS finals at BlizzCon next year will be just as big is in 2016.
Now that they've finally added a store to the game, they won't suddenly stop to invest into sc2. SPL no longer being around has zero impact on WCS or the amount of money Blizzard will invest into sc2.
I'm pretty pumped to see incontrol still being invited to these events, must be awesome to have been around jaedong as long as he has now. sign autographs after the event please
