I know i would probably react the same way but it still surprises me every single time when community figures actually engage with "haters" or rather negative opinions that way, especially when it's by far in the minority. Not everybody will appreciate what you do no matter what, obviously you guys know that and thus my comment is kinda useless to begin with, but cmon -.-
Personally i am happy to have you and TB at Blizzcon (to name both who posted here), at the same time i could live without others. It's natural
I would have stopped watching sc2 long ago if it wasnt for these casters here and also the few ones that are not around for this Blizzcon. To me they make the game more than the actual players do. In no other sport I ever watched I could say the commentators are as good as in sc2. Its a mix of knowing what they do, doing it with passion while at the same time every single one seems to be a nice person. Cant ask for more whatever they get paid they deserve more.

Over 6 years of that bullshit tests your patience. People have been saying this since 2010. 6 years, a lot of sacrifices, a ton of passion poured into a scene that could have gone somewhere far more profitable, that's enough in my eyes to earn my place in this scene. There's no reason to tolerate the nonsensical lies, misrepresentations and non-constructive criticism people bring to these conversations. I've got beyond the point where I'm just gonna act like I'm ok with people pissing on my passion. I'm not here because I have to be.

I think this list is absolutely superb, and something here should fit everyone's tastes. When there's like a billion different permutations, surely there's something that could be slightly better... I'd probably switch out Incontrol for Wolf, but it's about as good as it gets for me. Looking forward to watching the 1 SC2 tourney that I never miss, even while moving away from the scene recently.
I love these threads. People say such dumb stuff it makes me feel all warm and cozy inside. Anyways, I will be there and it will be fine.
THANKS LOVE
don't know why people focus on the few trolls amongst so many positive comments.
No, you don't know. It's impossible to get someone to understand what it is like to have someone _hate_ or dislike you for doing what you love the way you do it and randomly comment on it at every chance. OR almost as bad have someone completely level-headed just off-hand be like "yeah, that guy? I wish he wasn't doing this event. I prefer X person."
It's something you probably have 0 reference point to. Is it better to ignore them? Is it better to focus on the positive/ Yup. And I do that on a daily basis.. laughably, EVERY TIME I ever say ANYTHING about those who have nothing nice to say the same stupid shit gets said in response "I wish you'd just ignore it" or "man, you have thin skin!"
Anyways, back to ignoring it all I guess! WEEEEEEEEEEE
I would love for there to be a whole couch of casting, for example with tasteless and artosis doing the main casting job and having a player from each race discussing the build.

I'm happy every one of you in the lineup are going to be there. Thank you for all your hard work over the years. I cannot say it enough. And all other contributors such as Valdes, Wolf, Basetrade crew, FearDragon, etc. will be missed but just know I love you guys too.

Grubby never even played Legacy of the Void, he just plays Heroes and WC3 now.

ya thing is you're an agent of Blizzard at BlizzCon.
i'm a customer. i pay money to Blizzard for the purposes of entertainment. Blizzard actively requests feedback. "Every Voice Matters" is right in their mission statement. i'm 100% satisfied with the caster lineup. However, if another Blizzard customer does not like the caster lineup i think they should be able to voice their opinion without worrying if it bothers Blizzard's agents or employees. If someone does not want a person in the caster lineup because it negatively impacts their viewing experience they should say so. If a great many Blizzard customers feel the same way Blizzard may alter the caster line up.
any one who is the "face" of a large org like Blizzard has to take the bullets. MM, DK, CS, DB, Greg Black, they all take undeserved shots. its part of the job. i'm the face of my organization. i take the bullets. i'm paid to do it. when i see these irrational-hater-guys in person they don't have 1 damn thing to say to me. usually they avoid eye contact. When i get brutally tough, constructive criticism from other customers.... those guys.... they do talk to me face-to-face. they deliver their disapproval in a dignified, ruthless way and its sometimes not a fun conversation. But, i'm not getting paid to "have fun". Furthermore, when the criticism has merit and the communication is clear ...my product improves accordingly. i refuse to ignore criticism i "dont like".
Yeah, I'm not sure whether Incontrol was criticising me and my comment... But I thought I presented my preferences in a way reasonably respectfully without attacking anyone personally.
I realize that just about every personality in the scene is valued, and has a place in someone's heart, but I was stating my preferences while being very happy with the line-up as a whole =/
uh no.. I am not the face of blizzard lol. I was contracted by them to do an event.. that doesn't mean I answer to them or to the people that have complaints about them.
What you are saying is people can say anything to anyone who is paid to do anything because they are a part of a business transaction.. that is incredibly dehumanizing and bad. Yeah, you CAN do that. My post was my fucking human reaction to that.
Again, you literally have no reference point to this and can't understand. Me arguing with you on it moronic on my part. Me trying to communicate how this stuff makes me feel subjects me to MORE idiocy from people who want to dehumanize me and reduce me in everything I do.
god it boils me up when someone like jimmyjraynor or w/e the fuck explains to me how being a caster/working in the public works.. HE HAS NO CLUE. It's insane. Ok, back to not posting here it really only gets me angry.
Plenty of people love you Geoff, if you weren't there someone would be complaining that you're not there... But people don't say anything if they're content. People as you know enjoy voicing their opinions.

This is why you have a forum star, because instead of turning away you choose to wade through the bullshit. In a perfect world caster criticism would break down into 3 categories. I'll provide examples below.
Technical: (if you feel that you must correct what a caster said) iNcontrol, I noticed you said Flash opened up two fact and even though it was fast you could see that he pulled his third scv off the gas once he started his first factory and actually went for fake double. Hope this helps for next time!
Content: I know that both caster are protoss and protoss has been getting a lot of heavy focus in the last 3 games. Could you please try and show a little more zerg/terran action for those of us who want to learn about not so awesome races?
Personal: iNcontrol, lately you've been extremely game focused. Every now and then it'd be great to hear about during game luls. or the opposite iNontrol, lately we've been hearing a lot about you, but not much about you co-caster. Could you throw out some leading questions so we can get to know x-caster better?
From working with major businesses like Boeing I've had to learn how to be constructive in every comment I make. I'd be curious if you'd make tweaks to any of the above so it comes off better.

All I wanted to say is that there are a ton of people liking you and your casting (like me) and it's not worth it to get angry about the few people that don't. Haters will always exist, everywhere and there's no way to change that. If you're already focusing on the positive things then that's fine and my comment was unnecessary, it just irritated me that your first TL post in like 6 month was in response to some of those haters.
I hope Tasteless and Rotterdam will again cast something together. As far as I know this was their last and only cast together and it was awesome - Polt v Strange at WCS Spring:

100000000000% correct. Not only is this preferred it is welcomed by myself and most of my peers I feel comfortable speaking for. If someone doesn't prefer the way I do my work and wants to express that like the above WHO AM I to be like.. "No! you MUST prefer my joking style!" but when someone is just like "yeah, I wish he wasn't there." They could very well MEAN exactly what you're saying but by not communicating it fully it just hurts and is empty of value beyond that.
People are so damn quick to be like "nah man, it's the internet I can be as mean and vague as I want" but then whenever someone is like "That sucks!" they get defensive about it? Put more effort into it and you won't upset people.. if someone wants to explain in a constructive manner why they aren't favorable or prefer someone else that sits SO much better.
Anyways I suspect a lot of people know this but the standard defenses are "don't tell me how to post!" even when the discussion is "please don't feel free to shit on me!"
