Unit Tester with A.I.

Hi everyone.

I created a map "LOTV Unit Tester with A.I." that allows you to practice custom unit compositions against AI-controlled compositions. It should be available in all 4 regions.

The original unit tester has the units simply a-moving against each other, and they do not automatically cast spells and abilities.

In this map, however, the Blue player is controlled by an A.I, and are able to handle basic micro or abilities, including siege up, Corrosive Biles, storms, disruptors, etc.

This should be useful when you have no one to practice your micro with. Note that this AI is Blizzard's default A.I. so it may not be very good. Nonetheless it's good enough for practice against conventional compositions.

You can access it by searching "unit tester with ai" in Arcade.

- Friend or foe (green, yellow, red colors based on hostility, Alt + F) setting disabled while playing on this map
- Added an option to stop the AI from transforming, sieging, or burrowing. This new option is disabled by default, but can be enabled in the Options Menu. (Affects: Hellion, Hellbat, Siege Tank, Thor, Viking, Widow Mine, Liberator, Warp Prism, Lurker)

Oh, that's cool! Can be useful for targeted practice for us poor people that don't have frequently playing friends!
I'll try some viper-infestor micro when I get home! :D

Found it pretty useful, but can you disable the AI when I'm controlling the units? I can't put the liberators into the ground mode because the AI keep switching back.

This is a good idea but without any way to completely disable the AI for one side so that you can actually control it, the use is a bit limited.

It is not possible to practice micro when the AI decides to micro your units for you.

Thanks for your suggestion. I will implement a way (maybe a button/hotkey somewhere) to remove / restore (toggle) the A.I.'s control of the currently selected units.

EDIT: It has been updated and it's out now!

You should be able to remove the AI completely for one of the sides.

If you wish to control Red and let the AI control Blue then none of Reds units should be controlled by the AI no matter if they are currently selected or not.

Yes. Your units have to behave the way they would in a normal game, or it's not a very useful map.

I don't quite understand you here, is the A.I. controlling Red units? Because that shouldn't happen and in that case it's a bug and I will try to fix it. By default, only the Blue units should be AI-controlled.

(The 1.3 version is published to America)

The units in the normal unit tester just a-move when you press "Attack" and do not cast abilities and spells. This unit tester has the Blue units perform simple micro using Blizzard's default AI and the ability to cast spells like storm, siege, etc.

Must be that strange Battle.net publish bug that has just been recently fixed. Anyway it should be fixed now.
