The administrators of Gold Series International 2016 have decided to replace Sioras with Has in the Ro8.

Sioras used Harstem's computer in order to view replays, which is against the rules.

Has placed 3rd in their group and advances in his stead.

Aww. Wanted to see more of Sioras. Hopefully he doesn't just give up, and will decide to continue to play.

Pretty sure Has somehow channeled dark magics to manipulate Sioras into watching the replays. Either way it should be Toodming vs Harstem and Has vs Drogo but people are dumb so they probably won't bother making the switch

As I was saying, Has mindcontrolled Sioras into watching the replay, now he got rid of Sioras and knows Hastem's build. He's truly the one true evil

In the grand scheme of things it's still Has pvp and toodming pvz vs a better player so nothing really changes.

This is truly has' ultimate cheese, losing in groups then making playoffs anyway. Has is a force of nature imbued by the spirit of sniper to destroy everyone's hopes and dreams.

Good decision. Sets a good precedent in case something like this happens again.

Unfortunate for Sioras, being a new player who seems to have a decent attitude/friendly guy etc. Ultimately the right call though. Hope he learns from this, continues to play and we see more off him in the future.

Where are the rules?

On liquipieda it is written as Sioras was disqualified for accessing Harstem's computer/replays without permission thus Has advanced to Ro8.

Couldn't Harstem just have said he gave Sioras permission to avoid this DQ?

translation verified.

Um... to be fair, however, I am not sure how good Sioras English is, and we don't know if blizzard actually published the rules in Mongolian language.

EDIT: will he be granted prize money and treated as though he had finished in Ro16?

But why would Harstem want to avoid the DQ?

But at the same time avoiding PvZ(which I think harstem is happy about) of which his opponent knows how he plays.

Well, Has hype! Although he probably does not have much chance ... but the idea of seeing him against the TOP Koreans on Sunday is great!

Funny that we had yesterday evening a tough discussion about how Sioras must be very stupid to do publicly what he did ... with such a high risk / low reward ratio. But probably a good decision for the organisers, although I would bet, it is not written anywhere in the rules, is is just something, you should not do.

I am curious whether this occurred because of a communication error or whether he knew/suspected that it was not allowed, and attempted to do it anyway.

It's pretty common for tournaments to be horrible at presenting rules, and this is further complicated by the fact that e-sports (at least, stuff like Starcraft) has players from all over the world, fluent in different languages...

There's TOP KOREANS at this event?? I didn't realize Liquipedia was lying to me. I was just enjoying my Starcraft matches and failed to realize that Koreans were present. Man, they sure do blend in well as foreigners. Completely irrelevant but I have like 30 pounds of salt that I need to add to something but I'm not exactly sure what to add to..

The organizers did the great thing that after this WCS Welfare tournament, they organized a separate one-day tournament with 24 matches between the 6 foreign winners of this tournament and 6 invited TOP Koreans. So on Sunday, there will be 24 matches with TOP Koreans (TY, Dear, ByuN), very good Korean (DRG) and still very solid Koreans (Stork, ByuL) against the winners of this tournament. With all the production, casters, and prize pool 12k USD for the winners (500k for the winner of each match). Pretty hype!

Oh they DQed him? I thought a warning was not enough and personally would've deducted prize money, but a DQ is tough, although still justified.
Maru and Serral are probably top 5.

You really would need rules to explain to you that accessing someones personal pc behind his back so you can watch his personal, unpublished replays in order to gain an unfair edge, is at the least unethical?

Good thing we have WCS Circuit. Time for local heroes such as Sioras to shine. I'm sure there's no korean who worked harder than him yet has no chance to earn some money outside of the harsh competition that is GSL and SSL. WCShit 2016

I'm a bit flabbergasted that they first only give him a warning, then after Harstem spent some time practicing PvZ, they just today announce Sioras actually gets DQ'd instead.

Goddamn Mongorian!

Anyways, the best example of how Has gets successful - by doing something that‘s not really cheating, but so close to cheating it‘s almost disgusting he gets through with it.

Once you think Has is done proxying he proxies some replays onto Harstems computer and Sioras falls for the trap. Well played Has.

Liquipedia never lied to you: http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Gold_Series_International_2016/All_Star_Challenge was created two weeks ago

Oooohhhhh the burn!

That's what you get for spouting bullshit without checking your facts

Note : Diabolique doesn't exhibit anything that looks remotely salty regarding WCS in this thread

Sioras deserves to have his face kicked in, that cunt shouldn't even be at the event in the first place!
