Edit: Somewhat more seriously, I'd rather see Best of 7 with only one series per night or somehow reducing the down time (extra warmup computers for the players maybe, though I'm not sure how that would affect other things). | ||

How? I would think archon mode would represent the team better. The best macro and best micro combined. Or do you think it will devolve in a cheese fest or don't you like the concept of archon in proleague? | ||

Some other ideas: * The biggest issue I see in SPL now is that because there are only 4 playoff spots and there are 4 top teams in CJ, Jin Air KT and SKT, it's rare to see anyone else make playoffs. This year out of a total of 20 playoff spots, 18 were taken by those 4 teams. How about adding an extra round to the playoffs so that the top 5 teams make it. This will give the 5th place team a chance to advance on if they can win one all-kill match. Teams like MVP, Samsung or SBENU have strong players on them that could win multiple games in all-kill format and create an upset that is much more unlikely in Proleague format. We saw back in 2014 with MVP how an underdog team can accomplish miracles in all-kill format if they just make it that far. I do realize though this would cause only 3 teams each season to miss the playoffs but maybe that's not so bad. * Add another round to the regular season; i.e., have 5 rounds before the season playoffs, that way SPL can last all year. * I said it last year but I'd love for teams to have some incentive not to send out the same players over and over and over. I'd love to see some lesser-known players come out occasionally. I realize this can backfire because the players that get sent out over and over and over are popular players, so maybe Bo7 is the only realistic way to accomplish this. | ||

i think people will get bored of archon the more they see it, and i think it's better suited to ladder and casual play than to professional play. | ||

My 2 cents on this: I feel like if you want to have your archon harmonise to the point they can be reliably sent into an ace match in Proleague, you have to give them a ton of practice time dedicated to that aspect specifically, and preferably for all 3 races. Those who'd ordinarily be the ace player(s) would have to cut into their practice for their 1v1 to get perfect archon synergy (at least at the start of things). Seems like an unreasonable amount of work, tbh. | ||

The only interesting outcome would be B-teamers specializing in archon mode, but I doubt that would be the case. | ||

more stuff that talks about the game/play style/race match up. maybe in depth opinions about how the (korean) casters arrived at their prediction who will win the match. maybe predictions by the day's MVP (and his coach?) on who will win the next day's matches. maybe the best sign gets to ask the MVP a question. basically a bit more variety and fluff. | ||
