hey hey,
it has been very quiet here on my page! After the HSC X, christmas and new year i just didnt have too much to share about esports smile emoticon But i think its time to update you guys now.
1)
As you maybe heard, i stepped back from SC2 at the moment (i had an interview during the homestorycup where i mentioned, that im waiting for Blizzcon and legacy of the void announcements) but the legacy of the void release is not near yet and my motivation to practise SC2 in the 2nd half of 2014 wasnt there anymore. I love SC2 and im very satisfied with my results in 2011, 2012, 2013. No regrets at all, the game, the tournaments, the events, the countrys, the players, the fans and my own results kept me going.
But 2014 was a very rough year as a progamer. A lot of tournaments disappeared, many koreans moved over to Europe to compete here and the public interest in SC2 decreased. So did my own.
I always had my up & downs in my practise routine, but before important tournaments i practised really hard, it was just less enjoyable for me than it used to be. So when i failed to qualify myself for the WCS Season 3 2014 in july i stopped to practise SC2 completly. I played very little amount for EPS and HSC and of course, as you can expect, my results didnt get any better from that.
Thats also the reason why i did not try to qualify for the upcoming WCS season 2015.
So im currently taking a break from starcraft, but most likely i will continue to play the weekly EPS SC2 cups, depending on my schedule. I will not return to Heart of the Swarm, lets wait and see what happens when legacy of the void is going live.
2)
You maybe also heard that im playing alot of Heroes of the Storm. (around 1.000 games listed on hotslogs)
When i stopped training in SC2 i basically started to practise heroes of the storm straight away, its a new game, but same engine and im very familiar with the blizzard universe. You guys know that i played Warcraft III before SC2 so im used to play and grind in 1vs1 games. Forever alone. Haha.
But man, i did not expect to have so much fun playing a teamgame and trying to improve together. I have some backround expierence with Dota 1 and Dota 2, but never played it on a professional level. So there are many things i have to learn and need to improve on, but i like the challenge!
The amount of fun i have while i play heroes is something ive missed in SC2 for a while, playing and talking, using teamspeak and not forced to play vs a barcode is a very nice expierence.
So whats coming up? Im not sure. The tournament scene in Heroes is rather small at the moment, there are some tournament with a few thousand USD to win, but nothing big yet. The game just entered Beta status a weeks ago. If the esports scene and the public interest grows, i will consider to switch fully to heroes. For now we are just trying to improve and trying to qualify for the "important" leagues in Heroes at the moment.
We did not qualify for HCL, but we are trying to qualify for the HPL (2 qualifier left) and we managed to get into the ESL Major League at the first try.

We, that is WELL MET!
The old guard of SC2 players while drinking some beers had the idea to form a heroes of the storm team existing of Knowme, Socke and myself filled up by whoever fits.
During our sessions of solo que we met Hiruke randomly ingame and invited him to teamspeak to play a little with us; a few days later he joined our team. He has some backround in LoL, but never competed at the highest level. Last but no least we picked up Hysterica to strengthen our level of play.
So here we are:
current roster:
Dennis Schneider (GERMANY)
Ranged Assasin
Giacomo Thüs (GERMANY)
Warrior, Meele Assasin Giacomo 'Socke' Thüs / sockesc2 on twitter
Timmy Vilppu (SWEDEN)
Meele and Ranged Assasin Hysterica Gaming / HystericaGaming on twitter
