I hope most of these changes (or even more!) make it to the actual expansion, except for the swarm hosts, those are just sad. The game really needs some big game-changing alterations. | ||

-Warp-Prism. I still maintain that to get more WP play, better burst damage is needed on units to put IN the warp-prism. (Rather than making a separate air unit for harassing) Should make for some funny trolly games in high level players vs low level players. But who knows ... -Zerg able to break forcefields... I'm a fan. Don't really like FFs that much, so I am ok with a nerf. -Warping is interesting- is 8 seconds slow enough to warrant going gateways sometimes? 200% damage means Protoss will think twice before warping directly into battle. Great nerf for offensive Protoss, but it'll suck when the Protoss is getting attacked in their base. Am a fan of Zergs being able to break forcefields as well ![]() Also to the nerf of defensive warp-ins - at least for me it is one as on the offensive you normally warp in abit behind, thus the 200% dmg not really kicking in. With those nerfs to Forcefields and Warp-ins, perhaps we can see a tad better basic Warp-gate units (i.e. w/o upgrades) now, as the 2 biggest offenders for weak warpgate-units are nerfed now. That should also make warp-prism harass more viable, as you finally get something to put INTO those warp-prisms. | ||

The LOTV working as a standalone game is AWESOME for the scene, it generally doesn't even matter besides making the game more accessable which means more player/watchers/popularity which in turns means more money in the scene and more tournaments. Seriously every single time I read the forums here people are whining that blizzard isn't doing anything even though the game is in such a bad state. Now when they bloody do something people are complaining too. I'm so HYPED about all this, more workers from the start means more and faster action, more interesting skills and powerful units starts feeling worthwhile. More Carriers, BCs and stuff. I love the warp change it takes away the unfairly fast defense P has. Thanks Blizz, for finally listening to your fans and shaking things up! The fun thing with RTS is seeing the meta evolve and change, when it stagnates a game gets boring. No one wants the same strategies over and over again and that is what awaits the "total balance" than many of you whiners so sorely seem to want. | ||

Personally the only thing I saw that peaked my interests was lurkers I thought maybe they will just get rid of Swarm hosts, But nope I hate free units I hate them being in a high level competitive game. The Terran units and changes just feel odd, I guess it makes more sense for Terran players but nothing they have shown here excites me in anyway. If they are making this a stand alone title, is it going to go 60 dollars or 40? for another expansion I understand most of that cost is for the Campaign but why not release multiplayer only clients for 10 or 15 bucks. | ||

- No opinion on the eco thing. This could be great or a disaster, but they need to take into account what Downfall said : you can't ask players to secure 4+ bases without giving them the tools to defend them from harass. Something is contradictory in their approach. Terran : - Herc : I don't like the idea of a T melee unit either, but this one interests me. I hope it gets some testing. - Cyclone : No. - Siege tanks : picking up sieged tanks is interesting as long as you can't drop sieged tanks. - Thor self-repair : Neutral, but why don't they just accept the Thor needs to be less big and expensive and to resemble more to the Goliath ? - Banshees come with cloak and have more range : if overcharge doesn't hit air, I don't get how a Protoss can deal with that. - Battlecruisers warp : LOL. Zerg : - Ravager : I like the idea, especially the fact it gives Z an earlyish unit to break FFs. The animation is ugly though. - Lurkers : No idea how they'll do in SC2. - SHs : making mass swarm hosts not viable is a big relief. Yes. - Corruptors : please fire the guy who ever came up with that idea. As if muta corruptor needed to be strengthened, especially if overcharge doesn't hit air anymore. - Infestor : the unit definitely needed another spell, why not try that one. Protoss : - Overcharge doesn't hit air : no, no and no ! It's totally retarded ! Or remove medivac boost, remove muta regen and oracle speed. - Disruptor : seems really strange and hard to balance. I don't feel P needs another AOE. Why can't we have a early game quick unit that could get scouting intel ? Terrans have reapers, Zergs have lings. I'm jealous. - Immortal : I guess it's OK... I think they want Protoss to have to go carriers against mech. - WP : I don't like it. It takes micro away. - Tempest : I don't care about that unit and I doubt it's salvageable. - Carrier : yes, a thousand times yes. Make that unit good and get rid of the tempest. - Warp-ins : nerfing one of the only way P can compensate their lack of mobility. A huge no if harass options for the other races (medivac boost...) aren't nerfed severely. Consider making the warp-in take more and more time the further you warp in from the warpgate. - Oracle : why not. It's not like I ever produce this gimmicky, horribly designed unit. | ||

I don't want to focus much on balance as it stands since that can always be changed later on. I just thought I would return to SC2 once LotV comes out, but as it stands, I'm not convinced Protoss will be as enjoyable as the other two races, which hurts since it's the only race I've ever loved playing... | ||
