You have to re-qualify from scratch. Now admittedly all the guys who make GSL Ro8 are MONSTERS anyways, but upsets do happen, especially in Code A and Code B. Guys who might not make it back are Innovation and Stats. Maybe even Rain, who doesn't seem to be all that hot in qualifiers. I don't think the requalify applies to GSL. At least it shouldn't. My knee jerk is to dislike the region lock, but I'm willing to keep an open mind.

I know Blizzard has said it was never their intention to make WCS some Olympic style tournament but I personally loved it. The difference with 2012 and 2014(15) is that we had big companies throwing out money like confetti to pump up prize money. MLG, IGN, NASL all pulling out left Blizzard to fill in the void for yearly content.

They probably will later, my guess is that 2013 got a lot of backlash and they did a soft lock with the regional qualifiers in 2014, so I guess this was just where they were planning to go anyways.

If skin tone was a factor in supporting foreigners, explain Suppy. Or Masa. Or Catz. Or Hendralisk. Or Illusion. Obviously, since they're not white, nobody wants them to win anything, right? This argument needs to disappear, because it's so blatantly and obviously flawed, and it makes everyone look bad. There is NO racial component for people liking the idea of players being able to succeed without being Korean.

I don't think it's so much as a skin color issue as it's a "well they're Korean so like goddamn get out of NA competition". I think that's more of the point that he's trying to make, it's not a skin color thing for those people in my opinion. Of course those people sound xenophobic and stupid but whatever.

There is NO racial component for people liking the idea of players being able to succeed without being Korean. 1. That's sarcasm. 2. That would be seriously racist if it wasn't sarcasm. 3. Korea (not korean) is the main reason why this region-locking idea is bad. Better players playing in region --> everyone else gets better. This is why Blizzard needs to provide some people with help moving over if they want to switch regions; it's not healthy to have everyone in korea anymore.
