It's cool to get flight paid for and get to participate in a foreign country, but no good Korean team will let a ProLeague player prioritize this tournament over even a single ProLeague match. It's losing practice time in exchange for a neat experience. Aka not worth it. | ||

They also have decent equity in this event, more than enough to attend especially considering their teams are almost certainly taking care of them. Jaedong or Dear's spot in the open qualifier is probably worth like $5k in equity just for example. Perhaps more. | ||

Isn't that an odd thing to say when five IEM Katowice participants play in Proleague, with two of them (sOs and Rogue) seeing heavy rotation for a team that is semi-realistically gunning for the top spot? And herO is the best player on a bad team. All of them will miss at least one Proleague match, if not two (because of travel time/lack of time to prepare). Or does "good Korean team" mean only teams who didn't have players qualify? | ||
