Terrible patch changes. Tempest patch change means another retarded Protoss cheese lol. Hydra buff only makes zerg 2-3 base timing stronger. Ghost "buff" is actually pretty useless since it doesnt change the fact they are fucking expensive and are terrible against any nonpsionic unit. Mothershipcore: why not just decrease photon overchange by 1 sec, it is the same effect.

I wonder what would happen if they made blink similar to colossus cliff walking where they couldn't blink up ledges that were 2 levels.

Overall I like the proposed changes its just depends on how they play out.

A Passive Tempest ability that allows them to deal 2-3 times more damage vs. Structures

Tempests attack far too slow for this to make much of a difference, and that still doesn't make the game any less boring or exciting.


To be fair, not everybody consider the turtle styles to be boring to watch/play.


diversity is good :D.

I have a feeling 25 gas hydras might be way too good.
The more I think about it , 25 gas hydras would probably be incredibly broken...but oh so fun!

Im welcoming the PvT changes, dont know if its enough but at least the suggestions show that theyre talking about implementing changes.

Well at least the changes made me laugh.

You can still cast 2 Timewarp at once, nothing against blink allins, no nerf to P stargate.

The Hydra buff is just a troll.

Nothing in this list comes close to even being relevant to balancing tvp except the msc overcharge time which isnt decreased enough to help anything significantly and also the range at which its activated or its range is not nerfed. So..... with all this that has nothing to help this mu he turns around and randomly buffs tempest? No wonder this game is dying and the race distribution percentages in gm worldwide are screwed. And no dont touch oracles at all...

Don't like any of the changes and I usually like Blizzard's small changes that they do. This round of balance changes I feel is inappropriate and doesn't really address any of the key issues.

But my beef is bigger and with the overall game design that won't change until LotV and even then its questionable how many changes will Blizzard make?

Like I really, really don't like the colossus and imortal shields. I think the Colossus should be removed from the game, possibly being replaced with the reaver and then removing imortal shields, but possibly making it cost less, so that Terran mech can actually be viable.

The reason terran mech in not viable in TvP is because of Collosus and immortal, these two deal so efficiently and easily with mech.

Remove the absurd roach from the game as well, its just a really WC3 type unit that has a ton of HP to basically soak up damage and zerg shouldn't be like that, they have many small and cheap units that try and overwhelm you or use in addition of certain abilities to turn the tide of the battle, not on massing and A-Moving roaches across the map.

As far as terran goes remove the marauder and bring back the old battlecruiser that did 20 damage per shot, rather than the current one that shoots candy, its like it doesn't do any damage at all.

So I guess this confirms that they are indeed spinning a buff wheel. First oracle, then roach, now it's hydra.

However, the funniest part of this is that their fix for swarmhost/gglord static d turtle is to make tempest anti building? I love how they continue to do really wierd shit to make their game work rather than address the issues themselves.

The best part about this is the fact that it's only a test map.

What did I just read? Some of these propositions are crazy, not sure what Dayvie is smoking but I'd like some.

Time Warp energy increase still doesn't fix Blink problems, vision reduction would. Yes Time Warp helps but that vision helps more.

Hydralisk cost reduction? No just no, I hate PvZ as it is without cheaper hydras. I can't comment on ZvZ and ZvT but this will just murder PvZ.

That Tempest change, even as a Toss I hate that. If SH are the problem why make Skytoss more disgusting than it already is for PvP and PvT. Just change the SH already.

I'm actually sitting here laughing at how badly these changes missed the mark, it's kind of sad that Blizzard pays people to come up with these because I have no idea what any of these changes are supposed to actually do to make the game better.

Oh well, I suppose a patch was inevitable. I do hope that this will be the last one for a long while.

Leave PO as is. I don't see the gain between 60 seconds and 50 seconds. Almost as if they are bowing to the pressure of doing something about the PO even if they realise a whole slew of PvP HOTS builds are reliant on it.

Better to reduce the MSC vision range a little.

Ghost buff. No, thank you. Please don't remove yet more upgrades from the game. Nerf P a little first. Then look again.

Time Warp enery nerf. This is good. I think it will prevent a full energy MSC from putting out 3 TW one ofter the other. I've never liked the spell, and I'd also like to see it affect friendly units too. So that it is a true defensive spell.

Hydra? I don't like this change nor the reasons for it. It smells like Blizzard once again wanting to dictate the meta. Fuck off.

The Tempest change is huge. With a lot of unintended consequences possible for all match-ups. I think this should not go through. And I'd prefer Blizzard wait for a while (at least 3 months) before choosing to "fix" late game turtle Z. If the style does become the standard full on Z meta then let P players have a go at finding a solution. If we can't, a change to SH is better, I think, than buffing the Tempest like that. It sounds a cool change. But it is complicated and will be complicated.

I still think this is not the way to go, nerf at damage and adding bonus damage vs. shileds seems the best option to me.

This won't help the situation, a nerf to % slow should be implemented such that running trough tw does not mean all your marines die, players with good decision making should be rewarded.

Trying to make mech viable vs p is cute but I believe this will make scv pulls incredible hard to hold.

Making roaches and Hydras cost same gas is just insane, protoss players will be forced to tech into colossus to hold mass hydra all-ins from 3 base.

oh the gsl winratio zvp is 57% in favor of z? and noone is complaining about this matchup being protoss favored? let's buff hydras i guess. i really don't understand their thought process, it's just unnecessary and kind of extreme. the msc changes seem good and pretty much what pros wanted to see i think. ghost buff could be helpful during the current meta, we''ll see, not really sure how it will turn out for terran, some cool ghost timings could play a role in the game.
and finally the tempest change doesn't change anything about lategame pvz. seriously.

So people have been begging for hydra buffs for 3 years and now when it finally might happen, people still complain lol...

And this is coming from a protoss player. Sure it might suck for balance at first but that can be fixed; more importantly cheaper hydras should produce more interesting gameplay.
