Constructive criticism is welcome, but no mindless SC2/Developer bashing in this thread. |

Also, make it so that attack/armour upgrades does not apply to locusts, but increase locust base damage by 1 or 2. That way swarm hosts are better in smaller numbers in mid game, but worse when massed in late game.
So we just remove all upgrades until the game is fine or what? I feel like blizzard has already removed way too many upgrades anyways. More upgrades mean more choices giving the players more options aka more possible build orders which then leads to more differences in games. I do agree that the current way the upgrade works is pretty retarded, but I'd much rather see them improve upgrades rather than just flat out removing them. It feels like BW had double the upgrades starcraft 2 has and I find it quiet sad that they just keep removing them rather than adding new ones.

You have to see the bigger plan. The less variables you have, the easier it is to "balance". After there are no upgrades left, I think it would be a good idea to cut units. When the terrans have only marines and tanks left, zerg zerglings and hydras, and Toss Zealot and Stalker, perhaps DB and Kim are finally able to get their exact 50/50 numbers.

BW Upgrades were pretty much there to delay timings of overpowered units. Sc2 had this also, but they choose to not increase the game duration by introducing more upgrades to units that are quiet powerful, but rather bring out the other strong units earlier. I personally dislike it as well, but I understand why they are doing it and it does allows more choices, because tech transitions are cheaper. But that way people focus on the units that have no need for upgrades and we don't see the nice to have upgrades being used ever, because the missing upgrades make way for strong timing attacks. Another thing is that you have to keep up in the attack and defense upgrades or die. The BC was and the Carrier still is also stunned by the upgrade thing, because unlike BW they need to be even on upgrades to actually be worth it. Which is quiet weird for T3,5 units that use upgrades you usually don't have time to get if you only want Carriers.

Not really. People love to make this argument, but fact is, most upgrades aren't choices, they're just ways to delay tech and make it cost more. Nobody is making the choice to go warpgate research or no research, there's no choice to be had. Just like nobody ever makes the choice to get enduring locusts or not when going swarmhosts, you're just going to get it.
Removing it would be fine imo

MSC is ridiculoulsy broken even with this nerf.
The fact that P can NEVER overextend and there's NEVER a reason to not push vs Zerg which puts Zerg miles behind REGARDLESS of damage dealt (because units isn't drones).
And Protoss can defend bases with recall AND Overcharge, which lasts for an eternity, 50 seconds is still ridiculously long.
