The PO nerf is mostly meaningless I'd imagine. It'll make a difference, sure, but not a very large one I should think. The time Warp nerf is cool, but not because of blink stalkers. It's for those fucking annoying zealot/stalker/MSC pushes protoss like to open with. The MSC shows up and it's got a time warp. Now it won't! That's pretty awesome. Won't change nothing about Blink Stalkers though. The hydra buff could be very troublesome. Roach/hydra is kept out of the metagame for two reasons, tanks and mass marauder medivac (both with marines obviously). But if hydras are much easier to mass then the mass marauder/medivac strategy might be off the table and if all I've got is marine tank then I'm a bit fucked when vipers come out. Could be very troublesome. Doesn't seem like this change will make it though considering the backlash. Tempests. Meh, don't care. Don't care much for turtling tvp anyways. The patch makes TvP more favourable for me and I suppose I cannot hate it but it doesn't address the two things terrans don't like, blink stalker openings and the oppressive impact of the MSC on strategic variety. Oh and those fucking oracles too jesus christ. | ||

MSC meh. In my mind's eye I'd like to see the energy cost for the spells changed so that you can cast one PO and one Time Warp but NOT two POs. Something like 125 for PO and 75 for Time Warp. This will ofc affect PvP timings, but I think the PvP meta can cope with this. Hydra change WTF are you high? Tempest change... honestly I don't know how this will play out. | ||

The Hydralisk buff proposal is beyond-retarded and is another example of David Kim fixing things that aren't broken. On the one hand, Hydralisks do suck a ridiculous degree in ZvZ (They need a Roach or Ultralisk meatshield to even do enough DPS to be viable) and ZvT (because bio rapes Roach Hydra Infestor) but on the other hand reducing the gas cost is going to lead to some ridiculous 12 minute 200/200 Hydralisk timings in ZvP. And if you thought the "Stephano Build" was ridiculous, wait til you see a player maxed out on Hydras knocking on your door at a crucial timing before you can get the right number of Colossi and Templar out. A buff to Tempests? Tempests more than serve their purpose. The last thing we need are Tempest cheeses in TvP and PvP capable of demolishing entire bases whilst abusing terrain because that's what will happen if we allow this change to happen. The problem with breaking a Swarm Host contain is actually the 50 or so Corruptors out in the sky capable of instagibbing your entire air force combined with Vipers which can just YOINK your entire air force. And what happened to that Siege Tank buff? Did Reality vs Hydra basically change David Kim's mind even though Hydra could have realtistically won with multi pronged Roach drops in the midgame? That realistically seems more like a problem with the Raven than anything... Then again, what did I expect from a balance designer who thought it was a good idea to buff Queen attack range from 3 to 5 when all Zergs had to do to hold Hellion aggression was just make some fucking units and micro? That change broke Wings. Yup, I'm sticking with Starbow. | ||

Most expand builds in PvP are already extremely tight: the matchup is razor's edge for whether you can expand at all or never. Delaying PO will bring it back to only 1 base ever. | ||

At the start they are like woeoe les make terran ultra op and then oh shit too op butter nerf them to shit and make zerg ultra op, and then everyone's pissed off so half the players leave and then they are like bro we will balance shit out in HOTS with new units and go terran op mode again, and the remaining people are like wth blizzard are u high, so they nerf terran again and then they are like oh yea why dont we make protoss op so it balances the game out right? cuz terran and zerg both had the chances of being op, so they go ahead and nerf everything to the ground and now most of the people leave and they are wondering what the hell they did wrong. so they smoke some more shit and start giving out patches like this User was warned for this post | ||
