You have to stop attacking the vultures and move your goons back before re-engaging which gives the vultures a bunch of free dps. This makes roaming the map clearing mine-fields a little hard when vultures that outnumber your clearing pack show up. I'm not exactly sure how you would nerf them though outside of a very minor speed reduction. I feel like people just aren't performing the correct micro. Ive played plenty of PvTs and am not at all afraid of that situation or mines in general. Ive been mine clearing easily with 2-3 goons, just keep them spread instead of clumped. Really TT1, is your only complaint that you have to make 5-6 obs every PvT(which...is...standard....)....

What happens to everything else that is micro vs a move? A move loses to micro. Every time. Your argument is pretty stupid bro. hey bro how do i know where his mines are burrowed bro, i cant stutter step my goons every inch of the map bro How about an obs or sentinal you arrogant retard. The games you were talking about werent won or Lost by early game goons. And unless they changed it within the last 24 hours, you can micro mines soon as they pop. You can move then not just target fire. User was banned for this post.
you cant have an observer out in early game situations.. like right when terran is exping and u wanna pressure them with goons, or if ur trying to defend early game 2fact, 1base vult drops etc. also u cant have 5-6 observers in the middgame to defend vs multi-pronged harasses such as a vult drop in ur main and a runby in ur 3rd, theres plenty of situations like that. im not talking about clearing out mines with a group of goons in the midd/late game

Threatening to stop playing the game because you think there's a balance issue sure is an intelligent way of solving problems.

You know, fellow players, there will always be unbalance problems, shall they be intrisically associated with the design itself or with the meta, so just flow with them -- grab a beer, a coke or anything of choice and get the back of your mind to think: "how the hell do I beat this?".
I sometimes imagine the Nazis fighting and saying "shit, man, this is so unbalanced! These american just come with fresh forces and in others' land!". They got obliterated (good stuff!), but we have the chance to think, put other stuff into the battlefield and look for a new step in the meta.
This is not a goddamn AI, we can beat what now works!

Godwin's Law claims this thread to keep on until Nazis are proven to be in their mission to save humankind!
PD: Yay, welcome to the endless thread. PD2: Thanks quoted guy for making me look for Godwin's Law, was really worth it

that has nothing to do with it, im a casual gamer now and id rather spend my time playing bw than sb. sb is extremely fun but the game mechanics are more or less like sc2. it just isnt challenging enough, thats something ive mentioned since day 1. that doesnt mean i dont want the game to succeed or anything, it has alot of potential and i really like the community aswell

You had to be from Canada to be so... lovely... saying SB does not just give you what you want.
But don't worry, Kabel will have a special edition for hardcore and non-retarded gamers (as most of we are) in which you will have to assign logic paths to units!

I didn't realize how bad Goons were against Mines until tonight when I played.. they rarely kill mines, if ever O_O
|
Well they do just fine vs few mines even without observer as long as you micro correctly and not just a-move.

You argue that it's too hard to micro all your goons vs spider mines, on the other hand you say game mechanics aren't challenging enough...? Let me point out the obvious, less apm needed for macro -> more apm left for microing multiple groups of units.

Well, you have to agree that smartcasting + infinite unit selection make some game mechanics way easier.
|
Look, TT1 does not owe SB anything, he as a casual gamer should play whatever he finds interesting and entertaining. When you say he is threatening to stop playing, you are unfairly misrepresenting his position.
I watched guys like Stork and Jangbi lose goons to mines all the time in BW, it's obviously not quite as easy as one might think. I personally like that it's hard, it's something that makes SB stand out.

I don't think anyone has yet mastered combining warp tech for Zealot/DT/HT/Stalker production with Gateway production for Dragoons at the same time. When you think of the potential for mixing in warptech into your play, it wouldn't surprise me if toss (in that regard) was at least as hard mechanically (if not harder) than in BW.
The difference here relative to BW though is that the mechanics aren't forced down on newer/less skilled players which reduces the entrance barriers.
