Didn't see any post on this yet (sorry if I missed it).
It seems Bomber's time for military service has come, after Red Bull Battlegrounds.
"I will give a shot after the military service,” he promised. “If it doesn't work out well, I still want to do my career in the related field."
Hope he'll get back soon and still in good shape !

EDIT - IMPORTANT: As pointed out by some people: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=434388 So this is kind of contradictory with what still seems to be an official article from Red Bull Esports (relayed by the official twitter account). Could a mod slightly edit the title to reflect the uncertainty ?

WHAT...... Just as soon as he makes his comeback. So he's 25 now, and after his service he'll be 27. Not sure how he'll fare when he comes back :/

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
|
Awww that sucks, but he has to get it out of the way at some point. It's been a blast and I hope he comes back when he is finished.
|
Weird, didn't he just say in another interview that he was planning to do that after 2014?
|
I could've sworn in his WCS interview he talked about 'going to the military in 2014 or 2015', but maybe I'm thinking of someone else? D:
Either way...I really hope he comes back. Maybe not as a player but in some other e-sports related field. Then again, in two years...LotV will be out and it could very well be a new clean slate for guys like Bomber.

My thoughts: it's the law taking its toll for having being beaten

This. It would be great, if he could win WCS or Red Bull Battlegrounds, or both :D

Consciption, such a horrible thing (military, social service or jail is mandatory for me too where I live).
However, like someone else already pointed out, he has said that he would still keep playing next year before his military service so this is surprising.

I don't know, I also think this is in contradiction with the WCS interview

Bomber is done after Blizzcon . As far as I know, you can only delay military service so many times.
|
What. He just said he would wait 2 years before doing his military service.
|
He should join the air force

the ultimate disappointment. This is what it's all been building up to. Why didn't we see it?
Hope he does well at Blizzcon and Redbull BG!

well he has quite a militaristic name, so no hard feelings.

http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=434388 Direct quote from the man himself. I hope that a lot of fans come to Blizzcon and cheer at the games. Now that we're getting to the end of the year, I want to get a good result and return home to Korea triumphant. I'm planning to go to the military in 2015 or 2016, so I don't have much time left as a pro-gamer. Because of that, I think that I'm approaching my tournaments differently to other players. My goal is to finish this year with a win, and then make at least Top 8 at the global finals next year. I think that you'll see me at a lot of foreign tournaments next year.
