Taking young, talented people entirely away from the economy and society for two years to do military service is something I view as stupid no matter what the situation with neighbours or whatever, conscription is wrong, but that's a topic for another thread.
I hope this is just a missunderstanding as he's most certainly one of the most entertaining players as he tries to do new stuff all the time unlike some.

Well he'll come back and 27 is not THAT old afterall. I bet a lot of players of his age wish that they did their miltiary service while airforce ace was still around.
@404AlphaSquad: No country should even have an army, making it mandatory to serve in one is even more ridiculous.

Hey he'll at least give a shot when returning ! Nestea managed to dominate while being quite old for pro gaming standard !
IT'S NOT THE END ! (That better not be )

To the air force he goes.. :D

Well if your neighbor is North Korea...

If north korea has no army than it doesn't matter that they are your neighbors^^ Though don't get me wrong I understand how unrealistic my views are (though coming from a country thats constitution includes to not wage war abroad while doing so in the middle east doesn't give one much hope anyways) and having a neighboring country like north korea certainly weighs heavily in favor of having an army with mandatory military service it does not change my views as a pacifist and I'm certainly sad for all the progaming careers that are/were ended too early due to this service.

Let's make the almighty Luxembourgish army Anyway I don't see why it should be mandatory in our country, considering our surrounding :p. I really hope it's not true and he won't go to the military before 2015

It is more about the discipline and comradeships you learn in a barracks, than the military advantages for a country I care about. Most young people lack these 2 skills. I think it would be good for young people to go through drill, hard physical training with mental pressure... But thats of course my personal opinion and not the point of this thread.

There are much more humane ways of learning discipline and comradery (lol, which not even everyone gets in the barracks) than having to serve mandatory military time. There's a lot of shit that goes on in mandatory military service (heck, just regular military service too) that the public never hears about.
On the other hand, it's understandable if your neighbor is North Korea.

wtf no not bomber. They should delay until the last minute. He was just getting back to his top sc2 shape.
|
I don't understand. This redbull interview seems done earlier due to Bomber's hair color was still dark at the photoshot. And Bomber says he will go to the military in 2015/16 according to the pre-blizzcon interview.
I would rather believe the later, but still have to get prepared if he really retires after these two tournies.
E: I'm actually not even willing to think the possibilities that Bomber, the player I love so much is gonna leave. But he's going to leave eventually.

Really dont know why you all act so shocked when korean pros go to military service. Its fucktarded conscription they all have to comply to, its going to happen to all of them and we know it already, especially with the older crew.
GL to bomber though, really hate conscription with a passion -_-

Well, he should be an explosives expert. Private Bomber ^_^
|
|
isnt this some sort of neverending story? rumors about bomber being about to go to the military have been popping up every 4-6 months since 2011...
|
Sucks so much but eventually everyone have to do it and with Lotv coming Bomber is making a tactical decision to go now and come back strong soon after release.
|
Maybe an incorrect translation/embellishment from the author? I don't see a direct quote from bomber saying he will go to them military after redbull battlegrounds. All it says directly is that bomber will try to be a pro gamer after he does his service which if the other article is right will not be for another year or two.
