Most fantasy games all have the same design philosophy when it comes to female heroic characters. Fairly large breasts, thin waists, and/or skimpy armor/clothing. Neither Dota 2 nor League is an exception to that, nor is anything Blizzard makes, for that matter (WoW in particular). And no, it's not just QoP that's extremely revealing. Take a look at Venge, whom everyone seems to have forgotten about. Entire chest, midriff, and thighs areas are showing. Anyway, I don't think either side is innocent in this case. If you look at Drow vs Ashe, they have almost the same figure, outfit, and amount of skin showing. It doesn't matter which game has numerically more "sexualized" female characters, when it's pretty apparent that the design philosophy is similar in both. Riot, in recent releases, has at least tried to get away from this a little more. Jinx has a very small frame and very flat chest, and is meant to be attractive due to her crazy personality rather than sexy body.
I mean, I'd still say League has an edge because of some(a lot of) skins and their associated splash screens, and it 'feels' like Riot is more willing to use the female cast as a selling point a lot more, that last point is entirely subjective though. There are some MMOs that are seriously next level about it, we can all come together and hate them instead!
Jinx is a great example of how it's clearly not just the clothing though, because she's wearing less than most characters that would be pointed at as examples of fan service. I hesitate to say it's pretty much entirely on the figure, but maybe it is, part of me wants to put on an awesome 'evolved' face and then part of me just thinks 'if only she had an ass,' maybe I'm just a terrible person =[
riot is good at selling their champions no matter what gender or even what kinda thing it is. teemo is fricking cute (from my gf), default skin or not. blitz is awesome when you put some skins on like riot police pantheon with the manly style sparta skin shaco with the crazier joker skin wukong with the monkey king skin.
dota 2 champion on the other hand is much less likeable. it is highly possible that I just dislike the current design for several hero because I grew up playing dota1, but the design alone would push away players like my GF because none are attractive for her.

someone asked why league is bigger than dota and someone mentioned "lots of hyper sexualized women"
I wish everyone was like Thorzain. His tweet about starcraft players overestimating the intricacy and thinking every other game is sooo easy is very true. I wish people could just not try to be so elitist. It's a video game.
So glad MarineKing switched to LoL. I can't watch SC2 anymore, so maybe I'll have a chance to watch him in League now.
SC2 is still the best e-sports title, but not as appreciated by the masses. It's the pinnacle of individual prowess in all fields.
Take LoL or Dota, both titles take individual prowess of certain magnitute, but at the same time the load is divided by roles. There's the offence role for gankers, carries, pushers. There's the defensive role for supports and controllers. And so and so forth.
In SC2, you are your team captain (ie. no master strategist giving orders, reading enemy movements, etc.), you are your own offence and defense. And you are your own WORST ENEMY. Dun dun dunnnnnn. It is a struggle within as much as it is a struggle with out.
Okay, enough fanboyism. This isn't a bash. But SC2 is the most taxing e-sports title on an individual. I played shit tons of it and stopped because it was such a huge time-sink. Easier to commit the avg. 30 mins game of mine despite the harder gameplay.
The following interview is A) hilarious, B) refreshingly honest.

What about BW? If we're going to judge an eSport based on whether their mechanics should take 800 apm to execute, BW would be the only game in existence to be considered an actual eSport. How is SC2 considered the "best eSports title"? The fact that it's Starcraft?

"Best" is subjective. One can argue that "individual prowess" of MOBA games includes having to coordinate with 4 other team mates, as well as keeping track and trying to figure out what 5 other opponents are doing or trying to do. It is much easier to "coordinate" all the timing and movement of everything by yourself rather than with 4 other people. So it all depends on how you define it, and that is really subjective.

I think a lot of it had to do with how limited the WC3 engine was in terms of # of models, and custom models.

It's like saying Tennis is the best sports, and football, soccer, hockey are not since the load is divided by roles...
Every sports/esports requires different skillset, just because your excel skills is for SC2 but not LoL/Dota2 doesn't mean those games are worse than SC2.
This is not surprising tbh. He hasn't done much in the scene in the last year or so, more so after HoTS released. He's been surpassed by Maru on his own team and he's a code B player after losing to zerO. Sad that he left but at least at one point, he was called the best terran(in 2010 at least) and that won't change Best of luck to MKP! Hope you enjoy LoL

There are a lot of reasons why League is likeable. Heck, even the reasons some people list in favor of DotA2 is subjective. For instance, some people don't like the color scheme of LoL or the cartoonish characters when if you ask me and a number of other people we find the action easier to follow (in Dota2 the color palette is more dilute when observing the game making things less clear). If I had to compare the champion pools as well. I'd agree as well, the characters are more likable. They really know how to market their champs and look at how many people are all over Jinx. She's your suicide pin-up girl with believable tits with a rebel attitude that every adolescent can relate to. How the heck would she not sell especially when you create a pretty bad ass music video for her. Not hard to see why people would get into it and heck Riot seem to be releasing new champs all the time. Non-stop content to keep em' happy.
Nooooo!! Life isn't fair . Even though he hasn't done much in quite some time, I will always have fond memories of "Foxer" coming almost out of nowhere at the beginning of WoL and establishing himself as one of the best in the game for quite some time. If not for MVP, he surely would of(could of) been a multi-GSL champ.
