This was the first thing I tried it out. I'm not colourblind but I wanted a change instead of this boring darkred/blue or red/green. Pros : - Minimap can be better on some maps for some players since the option let you choose to have an improved contrast between the fog of war and the inexplored terrain. Can be useful. Also white minerals on minimaps can be a big plus. - Orange unit colour on ladder's games ?!? Hell yeah !
Cons : - The fact that you can no longer see the green circles around all of those units / buildings you've selected got me challenged more than once. Do not like at all. But hey, colour blind ppl might actually like this way better ! Afterall that's what the option is supposed to do, duh. - Orange units... Yeah but only for our ennemy. Too bad we can't choose ourselves our colour. We're still stuck with that darker(? Dunno, felt like it's darker while in colourblind's mode) blue or red or green.
Good thing that blizz finally got this thing working since there are actually more colourblind's ppl than we might think.
I'll still have to stick with my usual colours though. :p

Very excited for this as the red/green has been a challenge at times. That new building grid looks sooo much better too.

Also white minerals on minimaps can be a big plus. I disagree a bit. I mean, you already can turn off minimap terrain into black minimap without terrain. It's still the best contrast between player's objects and terrain.

Dunno, felt like it's darker while in colourblind's mode) blue or red or green. I think, it's maybe better. If we're darker and enemy is brighter, that means that we waste less attention to our objects and see better enemy objects. Especially in ZvZ where dark-blue is a lot darker than bright orange which means it's easier to see difference between orange/blue lings

Read 1st post better please. Circle around selected units/structures now matches player's color instead rather green

Added more screenshots with new contrast grid. What do you think, isn't it more usefull than standard one?

I recall reading that color blind players have difficulties spotting the small dot indicating where a nuke is going to land. I didn't see a reference to this issue in the OP. Does this color blind mode address it (perhaps indirectly)? Or is that still going to be an issue for color blind players?

Not colorblind but having a hard time placing a nexus in the proper spot next to a mineral line with the blue-white grid instantly.

I completely don't understand this topic. Can someone tell me, what is the big difference betweem blue/orange and the really default blue/red on ladder? Why would people voluntarily switch to green/red if they were colorblind, considering that if you do not touch the game in any way, you see the blue/red version.

Dude, just Google around for the test images. They're on the internet.

Many of players, from what I saw on forums, wanted to change their color a bit more, because theya re tired with green as default color. Right now it's possible to change green-yellow-red scheme to blue-cyan-orange.
opisska This thread was created for players like you that don't know about such small features, like alternate green-red colors in ladder (button near minimap).

I can finally see what the game looks like! Thank you! Edit: wow I didn't know there was a grid that can show you were to place buildings! + Show Spoiler +just kidding don't over react

Not colour blind but I still prefer the new mode. Now if only they'd allow you to place the mini map on the right side for left handed users like myself that would be great

Do you understand that you are not making any sense? In my post, I asked, why would people use that feature, so why are you telling me that I don't know that the feature exists?
So again:
suppose I am green/red colorbllind. Why would I switch the colors from red/blue into "team colors", which happen to be green and red and then wait for three years for Blizzard to come up with a "colorblind" scheme, when I could the whole time, with a single clilck of a button, switch back into red/blue, which happens to be very similiar to the "new" orangle/blue scheme?
