This makes me think back to Oov who was considered quite bm during his heydays but eventually became a very humble person and matured enough to coach an entire team.

I think it was justified, maybe not those exact words but definitely some kind of retaliation to someone who said he was "pained and crying inside". If Idra simply made a grammar mistake and didn't mean "the entire community" when he said those words, why didn't he simply correct his mistake or post a clarification? He had plenty of time to fix his "mistake" and he didn't, which shows that he a) either didn't make a grammar mistake after all and really meant it, or b) he knew it was a mistake, but didn't think it was important to fix it or he didn't care about the consequences (which I'm sure he knew would be harsh). P.S. you can "not take offence" to what someone says, but saying you "think it was justified" is putting yourself out on a limb for credibility.

That is more than can be said of the waves of people who have swooped in to make money and careers off of SC2. Idra actually sacrificed and broke new waters by going to live full time in a 100% Korean pro house. People forget what he put in and what he gave up for the game. IdrA wasn't the first foreigner going to korea for SC and living there full time. http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft/Grrrr... Also: IdrA more than once stated that he hates Starcraft 2 and just plays it for the money.

Wakes up to 100+ page thread about IdrA getting booted from EG. Can't really say I'm surprised, hope he either finds a team or leaves SC2 and does something that makes him truly happy ![]()

Here's my post from this morning in the locked EG thread, 8 hours before EG. Alex's announcement after IdrA's comment in the thread and his loss in WCS. Yeah, it might be time for him to move on. While he still posts huge stream numbers it's starting to have a negative effect on EG's brand overall. Because less face it — maybe this topic wouldn't even exist if a player like IdrA wasn't on EG. When you think about it, IdrA's fame and financial success DESPITE his lack of passion or success in game is probably THE driving factor that makes people question whether EG cares more about money than results. A great deal of EG's brand is defined, in the community's mind, by IdrA's reputation. Does anyone question the integrity of players like InControl, DeMuslim, Jaedong, Thorzain, Suppy etc? Not really. Because they don't openly complain about the game, rage at other players, or just give up in the middle of a fight. EG. Alex once talked about the importance of competing with a certain level of integrity (referring to the games Naniwa threw to Nestea.) People will spend good time and money to watch good competition — it's why teams and players have value and can become commodities. Sports hinges on the pretense that, regardless of the results, players actually care about winning. So even if you're in an unwinnable situation, it's absolutely unacceptable to throw games, not try or give up. It betrays the audience's trust and is bad business. What IdrA did in WCS today was pretty bad. It's like Allen Iverson refusing to enter a game, with 2 minutes left and his team down 10 points. Yes, it's unlikely you'll win, but he's getting paid to try. That being said, it's not fair to lump IdrA in with other EG players that obviously do try. When I'm on, I'm on. ![]()

Some guys can say "now i hate EG blabla". Now i have more respect for EG, they release Idra even if the WCS buzz could give them more money via Idra personnality. 2% of Idra attitude in my job and i was fired 4 years ago.

He could also take this as motivation to improve, but I doubt this will happen.
