This is a short documentary we made on our first school year with no money and too little time. Hope you guys enjoy it and maybe even link it to your friends who know nothing about ESPORTS. This was made to help those people understand what and why we love this thing. Hope you enjoy it.
Always liked Naama as a player, he's definitely not afraid to challenge the meta. Look forward to checking this out since we haven't heard much from him lately
Well, I just watched it. Give it a try guys, it's worth it.
So, the simple fact that I watched it whole necessarily means that I appreciated it at least a bit. First of all, I liked the insights on a progamer I am not entirely familiar with. Some good shots, and nice commentaries.
However, it is much easier for me to point out things I didn't like, so excuse me if I go an a rant =)
First of all, I felt that the whole documentary lacked... direction. What are you trying to get to? What's the storyline? That was my main gripe. Then, who is this guy who makes most of the talk? Just a fan? You? Your prof? You could display it somewhere. There are also some tiny details. Who was that top terran (Liquipedia suggests it was TOP)? Perhaps you could have chosen to show the winning moment when TOP taps out. Why is everything subbed except during the fight against Welmu? You could have subbed it too!
Transitions are not always smooth. When you go on the "losing" part, it was OK, you used one of Naama's loss. But the thing on how progamers are athletes just fell flat. Then the one where Naama says he's a good LAN player too.
But don't forget, I liked it!
My fav thing : Naama is not someone who washes the dishes!

Fair criticism, no hard feelings. The guy who does most of the talking is Teemu "wabbit" Hiilinen, a Finnish eSports veteran whose last job was chair of the Finnish eSports federation. That is written in the end credits. I thought about putting a introductionary graphic there, but decided against it.
The top terran he is talking about in the beginning is MVP. Naama won against him in Homestory Cup V. There is a short shot of MVP later in the movie that some fans might be able to connect to the beginning .
Not subbing the commentary in Finnish was also my decision. I thought it would be fun to just listening the commentary, it's not like there is any relevant information in there. Thanks for the comments!

The other guy talking is Wabbit and its said in the end credits. Could have been said when he was first shown tho. Everybody knows him in the Finnish scene tho.
I really hoped the vid would of been longer so maybe there could have been a storyline. Like you said it was a bit lacking. I enjoyed watching this tho .
I liked it, I must say I was thinking "who is this guy?" the whole time, but beside that it seems pretty good, I would have liked a shot from for example to show how big gaming in Korea can be when he talks about korea ^_^
We would've loved to use a shot of a big crowd like that from Korea. But we wanted to do things the right way and get rights to use every footage that we use. I tried to contact GomTV, but still 3 months later haven't received a response from them.
Nice short film. I got hyped up about Naama again there. He's always been one of my favorite players to watch. He just seems unable to provide an uninteresting game to the viewers - whether it's some funky one-base-build or a hour long macro game against Ret with nukes and ravens - he's always a pleasure to watch.
I just wish he'd get back the motivation to perform, because talent he has aplenty, motivation he seems to currently lack.
