I know it's supposed to be a good thing, but it makes me sad all the same.
Does anybody know the song?

Education always trumps any video game "career"
No one actually known the future of esports. It would be bad to be left hanging in 5 years. Ya he should do his education get a good job make a family and die. It's almost like you don't realize he said he doesn't enjoy progaming in SC2 now. He would only be continuing it for money or fame, how is that better than pursuing other passions that can make him successful and happy long term? -Education always trumps any video game "career" No one actually known the future of esports. It would be bad to be left hanging in 5 years. What i read-Education always trumps any silly dream. No one actually knows how your silly dreams end. It´s silly to not obey to the society. Now read my response again then tell me if i´m talking about steph.
People get irritated by guys who decide on their own how to live instead of it being decided by society and tradition. Maybe they're too lazy or too afraid of the possible consequences.

That was saddening
Good Luck in studying in school!

It looks like raw talent and a bit of practise (compared to most Koreans) got Stephano as far as he could go without totally devoting himself to SC. Unfortunate that he won't ever unlock his potential.
Throughout this interview i just kept thinking of Flash's interview. The contrast is striking and i just wonder how far he could have gone if he had Flash's mindset toward winning and practise.

stephano has matured so much in recent years, I wished he would stay for Lotv and shows us more of the top foreigners level. I am really proud of seeing his career from start and all the way ever since.

He might easily fool you guys, but at this point im already expecting to hear the next news title "stephano signs for another year with EG". You wait and see folks, he will be continued to be salaried for EG till sc2 is dead, then he will go into Warcraft 4 which is obviously blizzards next big esport . After that he will get another 4 -5 years of esport life. It doesnt matter if he thinks the game is fun or not. No work unless you are a pilot is fun.
Dont ever listen to what young kids say, their minds change constantly. Wise words. You can go through uni without studying a lot though
Pretty sure you can't if you are going into medcenter .

Holy shit, this is so well done... Excellent music, excellent player, excellent attitude...

Great video production.
Made me sad to hear he is retiring soon, but I wish him well in school and life.

I hope he starts winning again so he changes his mind about quitting
Additionally, I thought the music was so bad it was funny during the early parts where he was talking about the game, but it was pretty good in a schmaltzy way once he started talking about his personal motivations in the second half.

When the fans are so obnoxious you just want to see the person in question losing so his fans shut up. Yeah, same with Destiny. When I watch Destiny (once for 5 minutes every few months), I remind myself that he's actually a pretty decent person, and I don't mind listening to him. But after that, I go back to disliking him because his fans make me think he's a cult leader or some shit.

Aww man, bit of a sad video, but what he said was true at the end. I can only imagine it's something every pro gamer feels when the game itself isn't even fun for you anymore, it's just the desire to win. If he's at that point and doesn't really have any more motivation to play the game then I wish him the best in his studies.

Gotta respect Stephano. He's making an incredibly difficult decision but hes being honest with himself, he knows what he wants and it is his decision to make. It's a good attitude to have and I'm sure he'll find success in whatever it is he chooses to do.

I was never a fan but I can't really imagine what the SC2 scene will be like without him, there's not a single foreigner that's close to him or that even shows a fraction of his potential.
I'll miss him

I like his charracter i have to say, for he may matured somewhat but he is still the same person who simply cares not for who he faces or what people say. When he started he said he would be doing this only for money and for a couple of years, and it was fun for him. Take the money dude go back in school in 6 months and move on.
Easily the mot succesful foreigner around so far, and perhaps the best to.

I like him, but find his fans so unbelievably annoying that I don't follow him, cause everywhere he goes, they are. I've also got marineking, fantasy and bogus to follow, aint got time for no Zerg ^^
