oh wait
Also, since stephano can't assimilate with kespa-like trainings, I doubt he can par up with the koreans
There is a difference between blaming the coach for going 0-16 in games across the last four series, and complaining about the coach harassing (possibly) players by waking them up and needlessly screaming at them.
Aww, boo hoo. wittle waby got his weelings whurt for getting screamed at.

Yeah sure, call it rape too.
I assume you are regularly woken up by someone screaming at you for no apparent reason? If not, I can tell you first-hand that it isn't a fun experience, especially if it happens repetetively. If it happened once, I might agree with you and say that he's overreacting. If not, then yes - I believe it qualifies as harassment, and could potentially (one of many) a factor in the below-expectations performance of Stephano and EG-TL as a whole.
Personally, i can tell you that nobody would be performing well if they are woken up and screamed at (needlessly?) That affects your circadian rhythm, and therefore messes up your entire body clock.

Very true. I had a coach (not in Starcraft, obviously - I'm nowhere near the level where I would have one) who used to wake us up at 3 or 4 am for unscheduled workout when we were at training camps overseas. Very unpleasant thing to experience, and there is usually very little you can do about it.
Edit: We still don't know if what Stephano talked about has happened multiple times and to more players than him. If it has, that is a possible explanation - if not, then the rest of EG-TL is still performing below expectations for some reason.

His story is very one sided and for all we know he's not even practicing and just slacking around so his coach wanted to slap his shit together.
But hey, maybe it's stephano and his "rockstar" attitude to do some fanservice and start another drama for MORE EG ATTENTION.

Or maybe it's not, which is why it's silly to shit on him without actually knowing anything other than that you don't really like him.

Talking about it on a forum must be silly then! then TL must be the silliest part of the internet!

I really don't want to start an argument, but the delusional Stephano fans are far outnumbered by the hardcore Stephano haters I feel (I don't count you as one btw). Yes it is true, that Stephano didn't do as good as some expected but there is no shame at all in losing to Innovation and Flying.
hrmm not in my experience
Just look at the LR of his up and downs matches . One guy in the whole LR said Stephano was code S champion level (which is stupid) and everybody jumped on him to say how Stephano's fans are the worst blahblahblah . Just look at his fan club you won't see any delusional fanboys comments . Quite the contrary actually , lots of fans were not hoping much of his trip to korea and knew it would be really though for him to go through his code S group .
Anyway good itw I hope he goes back to korea to help EG-TL with Proleague (with Taeja injured and HerO not playing is best they really need him) .

I'm not really sure what you're trying to say here. I suggest that shitting on a player without knowing any facts is silly, and you respond with... What, exactly? I don't get it.

That's what I'm trying to point out here, stephano is just spouting shit without the side of his coach so how the fuck am I supposed to believe him and his whining.
Stop being a pseudo-intellectual with that reply and read my previous posts clearly.
whats more likely, a coach whos been part of esports system screaming people awake every morning or a 19 turning 20 year old guy is thrust into living in a foreign country with 1 other english speaker as a friend on his team, can't speak the language, in cold/gray/shitty weather, had mediocre results (but surely not the results he wanted in GSL and/or proleague, if he cares about proleague), and who has in the past had relative freedom (enough so that he got kicked out of a club partying or whatever) compared to a strict korean teamhouse living style
then contrast that with a coach (trot, dunno if other EG coaches) who probably can't speak english, who is used to koreans dutifully washing the dishes and practice to 5 AM playing the same 20-30 practice partners everyday in the SKT house because they dream of one day even being sent out for 1 proleague match for SKT just because of the name recognition, who have a different way to respect age compared to most westerners (who probably see a difference between an 18 year old vs 20 year old socially) and probably feels stephano doesn't show the right way to respect and older coach based on korean standards.
there's no one to blame on either side, it's just a 19 year old being unhappy.

He wanted to but as his career went forward, he realized it was not possible anymore. Last time he spoke about studies it was for economics school/university in Manchester.
Otherwise, the EG-TL coach is obviously bad. Of course he's not the only responsible of the bad results of the team but most of his choices are absurd.
woah, that was pretty emotional. i feel kinda bad for stephano, but of course we don't know the whole story.
i do think it was a dumb decision from both EG and Stephano to have him go to Korea in the first place. he had been saying he doesn't think GSL (and proleague) suits his playstyle at all and he probably won't do well. not sure why EG thought it was a good idea to send him there, have him practice in an environment he won't enjoy and expect him to do well against the hardest competition in the world in a format he does not like.
just bring Stephano back to France or US or something and send Idra to Korea. the name recognition should still be pretty damn high, there's not much to lose in terms of results (sorry Greg) but a lot to gain from him practicing in Korea. Idra has already shown in the past how well he can do in a Korean environment, and i don't think he would complain about going to Korea. could be wrong though of course.
Stephano: "I am having very, very depressing and unpleasant time in Korea..."
Who do you dislike most in EGTL? "The coach. He is very unmannered [...] His general attitude, I don't like it."
It's a shockingly candid interview, and it shows just how new and raw e-sports still are. You would never see such an honest and negative interview from a pro athlete.
Clearly the team atmosphere in EGTL is every bit as bad as it has looked from the outside. They assembled Hero, Taeja, and Stephano for the first time in round 3 and yet are on an unbroken 16-game losing streak. It's ridiculous, and it's clearly nothing to do with the quality of the players. Taeja is this GSL's semifinalist yet he's on a 5-game losing streak similar to his teammates.
It's too bad for Stephano b/c a great opportunity for him to learn and improve in Korea is being wasted in a poisonous team environment.
It's clear to me that Stephano is also suffering from homesickness and culture shock. I've noticed it's common for French people to get homesick, and the cultural gulf b/w France and Korea could not be more vast. In Korea the expectation is to work tirelessly and obey authority unquestioningly. If you fail it is a personal shame. In France they do what they want and if someone, whether or a coach or whoever, criticizes you, you tell them where to stick it. If you fail, the usual reaction is a Gallic shrug of the shoulders and a c'est la vie.
EGTL are crying out for a management change and that seems to be inevitable given their freefall. But if one Korean coaching staff is simply replaced by another, the tension between the expectations of foreign players and Korean culture will continue to create conflict.
