Sorry, but I've been following the tournament since it's inception and almost every year we hear terrible accounts. Many of which include the refs and how bad the administration is. I dunno what you're talking about, but I've been to the Canada WCG tournament before (I went to their Montreal qualifiers for this year) and it was relatively pretty good. Some internet problems, but that always happens. Not the worst tournament and the guys running are veterans. WCG USA is pretty bad though

I loved the old WCGs, and the palpable hype around them, the exposure that foreigners got against Koreans in Starcraft etc etc. People were so pumped for WCS not solely for the prize pool, or the prestige, but for many of us it offered a chance to see a WCG 'done right'.

Perhaps it's organized better over there, but WCG went from the best tournament (for WC3 when it was still popular in europe) to a side event. Sucks to hear that you had and still have problems Dark.Force, and especially that you can't go. Cough* Counter-Strike 1.6 *Cough CS was like the poster-image game of WCG.. That game was WCG. So once cs 1.6 went to shit and died, WCG went to shit along with it. WCG has been on the decline ever since.

WCG has been around for over 10 years. Two games actually haha, like it matters. And they'll probably take it up to three games when Blizzard Dota comes out. But yea I agree, you can't compare the two at this point. WCG used to be a HUGE tournament, and it has a massive history, regardless of the problems that came along with that, no tourney is run PERFECTLY, shit happens. WCG is dying down though, bad, and WCS will probably take its place eventually.

And to everyone suggesting a boycott: these are issues with WCG that directly affect the competitors and viewers. They'll drive people away of their own accord if it really is a big deal. They'll be forced to step up their production or else just be ignored by players who don't want to deal with the hassle of signing up and viewers who hate the quality of streams and games. So just don't watch it yourself, not because you're angry at WCG and trying to teach them a lesson, but because it's a tournament that just can't draw your interest.

No, I don't watch it because I'm mad at them. I don't watch it because there is better stuff to watch. Over the last few years we've seen a lot of players unable to participate because they were too busy and it's just not worth it. We've already seen this decline and Samsung has always been unresponsive to the player base. I know several guys who have given them suggestions in the past. They seem content with how it is. That's fine. I don't really care with what they do with the tournament and haven't cared for a while. It's their business not mine.
