I think most people thought that the director would follow the casters around etc. ,but the problem is that the aim of the doc is to show how they started off,.hence you can obviously not get footage of them years ago. How I see this documentary going is that the next part is going to be about how Artosis started out and in the final part how they are doing now and hopefully there will be more documentary-like scene where we get like backstage footage etc.

Part 2 seems to go a little deeper. That's cool.

Why couldn't he have narrated it, would have been a perfect segway, "KeSPA pulling their players, Nick potentially without a job for a long time and still bad news to come.." When it jumps as much as it douse in this doc it's heavily needed imo. Better than part 1 but still this beating something to death before they move on to the interesting part.

This one had direction and a story to tell, instead of just interviews about "e-sports". thought about the fact that this might have been an introduction to people who don't know shit about esports? other than that i have to agree with the most here, great second episode and the end made me kinda curious and wanting to watch more of it. gj.

Sure there's still some stuff to criticize, but it was honestly what I expected. And I was hooked enough to watch it in 1 sitting (I paused multiple times during part1 to do other stuff). If 3+4 are at least the same quality, I'm quite pleased by the project (and hopefully will forget about part1)

That's what the first part was meant to be... an introduction. Some people blew it wayyyyyyyy out of proportion by shitting on an intro to a 4 part documentary. If you think about it, the way that a documentary like this should work (which is the obvious route that has been taken) pretty much goes like this: Part 1: Intro Part 2: First story Part 3: Second Story Part 4: Ending. Not sure what everyone was expecting. Also, if you consider the fact that this documentary will be on netflix, there are several people in the world who don't know about esports at all. Having an intro that pretty much breaks down what esports is about was a good ass idea.

I've seen documentaries that managed to tell one cohesive story where all the different storylines of interest were interwoven into one. Maybe it's just taste.

I've seen documentaries that managed to tell one cohesive story where all the different storylines of interest were interwoven into one. Maybe it's just taste. But if you start off the documentary by "info dumping" on people who know nothing about esports, that's an easy way to turn people away because there are people in the world who don't want to have to do research (learned that when I started working in retail). We, of TeamLiquid, are a small portion of the world. I believe the director was trying to reach out to a broader spectrum of people by breaking everything down rather than just having Nick and Dan talk about their experiences blindly for an hour straight. Not only would that be boring to new viewers, it would be boring to us (some of us).
