I just noticed that tanks and thors are the only 2 ground units in the game that can't fit through an opening of 1 unit, where ultras and colossus can go through (along with every other unit). Is this new with the patch? For some reason I thought Ultras and tanks had the same unit requirement for chokes and what not. | ||

It's funny how todays UI are getting less and less borders to the point of being borderless. The SC2 UI is just doing the opposite Xd I want to know who at blizzard designed this. | ||

We are going back in time, 80s? 90s? I can't remember the last time I saw desktop buttons with such ridiculous borders. Please Blizzard, look at any Apple application and copy the basic principles: make it simple, make it clean. Less is more. More lines and borders is just ugly and eye tiring. Thanks. | ||

I participated in the patch testing ("SC2 Beta" or something), which already had that same design. Ever since, I wondered - why is this new design so annoying to me? Generally, I'm the kind of person who doesn't give jack shit for designs, as long as the content and functionality are great. But there was something way too wrong about this one and I couldn't determine it, so thanks for pointing it out, literally with pointers. It also puzzled me - why change visual style of the UI in the first place? Then I realized why! They do it, because they want any visual content produced after patch 1.5 to be immediately recognizable. They DID improve some more important aspects of the game engine - I was wondering yesterday why all HQ streams look more amazing than ever somehow, the answer is in the patch, BUT still those are subtle enough improvements, so people would not be able to tell immediately if some content is post- or pre- patch 1.5. So Blizzard decided to make the UI significantly different by its core visual design. Luckily, I hope it won't be that much of a problem to fix that annoying aspect of the new UI looks soon.
