The widow mines are really underwhelming for their cost. They're bad at stopping large groups of units, since its so easy to spot which units have timers over them. The only time I feel like they justify their cost is if they can catch out a drop or latch onto an expensive unit(e.g. viper). They're definitely not like spider mines, since if you are defending a position they add nothing to a defensive position. I might try to play around more with the new mines and see if you can do things like target your own units with the mines and run them into a mineral line.

Agreed. A quick and easy change would be to have the shield go around units instead of mineral patches. Therefore the user of the Oracle would have to aim to hit as many workers as possible. Good idea but sadly it seems too micro heavy for blizzard's standards :/ I would say make the mineral blocking a channeling spell like the warp prism : the oracle has to be immobile, if it escapes then the stasis on mineral field is interrupted. Obviously, the oracle would be cheaper in this case.



I like this though a queen would pretty much make it useless pretty much. Everyone would probably have multiple queens anyway.

Watching that battle report I just didnt like what it did to the econ of the zerg. Its like instantly temporarily killing all the drones. Ill have to take another look at the battle report. See what the range is on this cast or does anyone know?

Looks like the oracle range for entombed is about 5. It has 100 total health. Interesting is that it seems kind of AOE to the mineral patch.

In the battle report the first time it's cast it covers all the minerals and is casted closer to the minerals.

The second time its cast from further away it gets all the mineral patches except 1.

I guess they removed the building stasis on the oracle (it disabled turrets or something like that). I thought that was pretty cool, but I am liking the oracle overall anyway.

Kinda hope they rework entomb a bit (lower energy and one patch at a time or something like that) simply because it is a bit dull imo.

Overall I really like the reveal, though. Should be lots of fun once it finally makes it way to us!

Yeah I love how the widow mine takes minerals, gas and supply. It appears that both players can see the timer, so Zerg can just run lings into mines and then kamakazi them into your base. I can't wait to play Protoss in HotS after working for 5 seasons to get rank 1 master terran....

I don't think we are in a position to judge the swarm host. It looks very good. I mean anything that inhibits your opponent's movement and creates strong, free units seems super good.

But maybe they are expensive and easily eliminated in-between cycles.

Really? I thought the Zealots actually effectively destroyed the Warhounds in their own video :D. Seemed interesting to me that the unit designed to counter the other seemed to trade pretty evenly with the zealot.

I sadly feel the same way. I can honestly say that I feel no excitement for HotS. And if I buy it, I will be playing Protoss. If Terran is >20% now, I can only imagine it's getting lower in HotS.

Warhounds aren't suppose to counter Zealots. Otherwise, they would counter every gateway unit lol.

for some reason, i feel that the terran new units are pretty subpar compared to what zerg and protoss are getting.., but widow mines are able to attack air, that's really interesting

Anyways, T looks stupid and I really don't want to play that.
P and Z look great, Z looks OP with that pull. It can pull tanks and colossi ? GG right there. Z has the strongest casters with infestor and this flying defiler.

Warhounds aren't suppose to counter Zealots. Otherwise, they would counter every gateway unit lol.


Why would they counter all gateway units if they countered zealots? Also, it's my understanding that they are indeed meant to provide a counter for zealots.

That's actually a really sick idea, I didn't even think of that. I wonder how much supply the mines take up though, I just have a feeling people will flood entire areas with them and it will get ridiculous.
