That's my concern as well. Tanks makes for the strongest positional play in any match -- very chess like and unlike other compositions. Really hope they are still vital.

Terran seems garbage this stage.
The Battle Report was very fun to watch though and the new units were very useful, though the zerg could of killed that oracle so many times with his corruptor so his 4th wouldn't be useless.

I don't mind it being obvious, but it takes way too long. It needs to detonate faster. The way that it was shown, any silver player will be able to remove that unit from their army and still have time to type /dance with it for a glorifying dance to the death.

We're gonna have to scan ofter or make ravens to deal with observers.

I personally have issues with the window mine. It will not be in any way as useful in professional play as the spider mine was. people will use detection and just kill them, and even if they do get attached its so easy to remove the unit and avoid AOE anyway. I just don't understand why you would make such a potentially worthless unit, I could understand if it was a units ability, but a unit itself, it just seems useless.

The battle reports are more to show concepts of units, rather than finished builds. I think the idea looks solid and demands your opponent be skills and quick. For units that are moving across the map, I think this widow mine could catch them off guard, since the player will be looking someplace else.

Indeed. He went for 0/0 ultras, while toss was 2/2, and it clearly wasn't a serious game. I mean, at the midway point, when he sniped the third, he could have just maxed on roaches and ended the game right there.

It was a showmatch, only meant to display the new units and their abilities.

I don't think tanks are going anywhere. A unit's usefulness isn't just determined by its combat ability, but also by how accessible it is, how much it synergizes with other units, etc. If Warhound, Hellion, and Widow ends up being a mainstay terran composition, it only makes sense to add in siege tanks as well, even if they individually aren't as strong as they are now.

Some of the new units, and the battles they create, look like a lot of fun. At least initially. Worried about balance though, abilities like Abduct and some others could be super powerful. It's not like a mothership will survive long against a Zerg with a Viper.

And that 22 range? Holy check.

wow the wahound looks terrible. and the laser stuff is just awful.

oh man i hope this unit does not make it in or gets a new design, it looks so out of place horrible.
