Hey there TL, a while ago i posted in the blizz forum (yea i know) because of some trouble i had using the minimap.
Being left handed, if find it terribly difficult using the minimap but i find myself using it more often the better i get. I thought it was just me but i tried LoL and switched the minimap to the opposite side, its feels much more natural, and now i know why.
When you hold the mouse it is much easier to perform an arc over to the opposing side of the screen. It is much hard (with precision) to move down and off to the side where your mouse hand is.
Im wondering if any other lefites find trouble because i know i do. For Right-Handed players who could be thinking "what is he on about" . Take you mouse and imagine the minimap is where the Unit Action/Creation Menu is. Move you cursor from the middle of the screen down there many times and you will feel how unnatural it is.

I actually agree with you. That's something I always thought would be cool, a more custom in game UI....
I never thought about this, but now that you mention it I've always found it difficult, yes. I just assumed I was bad, but it does seem easier for me to go on the bottom right than on the bottom left. I might even be willing to give it a try if they implemented a change.
No because I use the mouse with my right hand. But I can definately understand the point here, using right handed mouse, going to the right corner is harder than the left one.
Wait, aren't the minimaps on SC2 and LoL already on opposite sides?
I haven't noticed either game to be easier/harder for me to access the minimap.
I've really never noticed it to be honest (right handed, but I play with my left hand).
I never thought of this because I hadn't experienced anything different, but yes I agree. It would be great to be able to change this actually, not sure if it'll happen but it would definitely help my play now that I think of it (and compare moving my mouse to the other side).

I'm a lefty, fortunately I've always used the right handed setup. The drawback of that, of course, is that my mouse hand is terrible. I see what ur talking about though, makes me glad for one reason I've stayed with the mouse on my right. Thank you!

as a rightie (?) i just did what you do with left hand, and it feels so "brrrrr"

I think that from now on when there are those SC related surveys there should always be a question about being right/lefthanded in there.
I have more troubles when I think about it, however, I wouldn't want to switch it up now.

No trouble at all, for me being left handed is an advantage. I thought myself to use both hemispheres of the brain most of the time tho. Looks more like a presonal choice, and shouldn't be hard to get used to it. As for the clicking minimap - that's even easier to get used to. If you use mouse with your left hand for everything else, you should have no problems. Train it.
I'm ambidextrous, and have no issues scrolling to the minimap with either hand... I don't really understand the point- especially if that's what you've been doing all the time, you should get habituated to the movement.
I don't really get it, I'm right handed and both minimap sides seem fine to me? Maybe that's just me though.
Get this too. Righties. The mouse icon still points the same when when youre playing left handed. That is why I couldn't switch, even though I'm a lefty with everythign else. The pointer doing this < instead of this > drove me mad. How do you use with that thing, on the screen, when it obviously points from the right? I wish it was a switchable option.
I'm left-handed but I use my right hand. Takes practice and repetition, although I know how you feel.
I'm left-handed, but use my right hand as mouse-hand, but I do understand exactly what you mean. Don't know what will/if something will happend.
Left-handed but always used the right hand as my mouse-hand. So far I've noticed that mouse precision for me is really hard, whilst executing commands on the keyboard is.. ultrafast for me as a leftie.

this is the penalty for using the hands wrong way xD
