it's quite simply absurd to assume the current skill cap in sc2 is the same as the one of BW. BW is endlessly harder, and SC2's actually pretty easy and casual (especially regarding macro mechanics). everybody who's played both games knows it.
as for this vod, it's everything but impressive. the only impressive thing would be to assume that he's only been playin for 3weeks, which i strongly doubt. still, it's Flash, and it turns me on to see him on the newer scene of esport. i just hope he doesn't get owned by late game toss gayness in his first major tournament, cause that would most definitely make me break something :-) Why would it be any fun in a strategy game if a persons ability to win was most strictly based on fighting the games mechanics? There is no skill cap in strategy.
didn't say everything was based on mechanics. strategy and decision-making are obviously important (MVP proved it recently enough). and are still way harder in BW if you ask me. still mechanics are the basis and are what's common to every set played, and the mechanic skill cap in BW is absurdly high, while absurdly low on SC2 (chiefdly due to blizzard's tendency to ban elitism from their games). i'm just afraid, like a lot of BW fans i guess, that i won't get the same feelings when watching Flash playing SC2 :-)

People commenting that he builds units by selecting buildings 1 by 1 instead of taking full advantage of MBS should keep in mind that he will still be playing BW for a while longer. He probably doesn't want to become too used to MBS which might affect his BW play.

Flash doesn't care if you have tanks; he will win anyways. But seriously that was some sick micro!

Getting to 102 supply in 10 min ain't easy, probably least of all on the KR ladder, and his economy management seems to be well on its way. Flash will really start to shine with more experience too. This is looking very promising for someone who started recently, and whose strengths lie with his experience. I cannot wait for him to hit his stride. Go Flash.

Pretty impressive if he's only been playing a short while!
He's got a long ways to go though, but If he's as good as everyone says I'm sure he'll improve at a far faster rate than most.

Because it's a real time strategy game and mechanics are fundamental in separating one's skill from another. And don't pretend there is no skill cap on strategy when there is: it's called game design. There aren't an infinite amount of ways to play the game and as the players become more refined the amount of strategies available to legitimately use narrow.

What I want to see nest is how he is handling a long macro-mech-turtle game.

Flash is going to eat people for breakfast after he practices enough.

So Flash will need to prove himself in SC2 before he can be called a god in this game. skill cap isn't infinite, because reaching the cap is not becoming like automation 2000...in this way every game have an infinite skill cap.

Im still kinda in shock and cant believe that I just saw flash play SC2, when i snap out of it i think im going to cry tears of both joy and sadness.

The skill cap is infinite in the same way as running the 100m sprint. The best time is some specific number but it is always possible to do it better if you're good enough.
In Starcraft though, that skillcap example was about just one specific micro battle. A long macro game is like 10 or 20 different 100m sprints so it's much much easier to improve.

Flash Hwaiting!

Wow, Flash is playing really well already.
I can not really think of any major mistakes that he made in the TvT game. Perhaps he should have landed the third command center a bit earlier, but besides that it looked very crisp!

SWEET MOTHER OF JESUS
*btw hes playing with no sound lol?

If he can beat players like Apocalypse already, then Jesus help us.

In overall picture, Flash account only has 55% win rate, that's pretty mediocre. He's not gonna dominate the scene for at least 6 months, or a year, even he said so. Virus have 55%, Bomber have 62%, Maru have 51%. Nestea have 57% Dunno what to say more here I personally know people that were between 50-55% high masters on Kor last season and all of them were above 70% high GM on NA last season. I'm not saying that NA is hard or whatever but in comparison to KR i'm just saying that when you match top Code B/Code A/Code S every second game having anything over 50% is really fucking good. People who say otherwise have no idea about the KR ladder
I hope you all realize the lllllll accounts have like 70-80% win rates, which are pros actually trying with legit builds not messing around -_-

I'm not sure if he ever used mules that entire time. And still won convincingly. His macro is...well...godlike. Thanks for the videos they are truly awesome. It is a treat to watch Flash play!
