She is doing something I think a lot of people want to do. and hell, I know most streamers who would like to give trolls a peice of their own medicine. Prime TV has many of the same Issues, and I would sure as hell like to sue them. but I don't because I'm not weathly enough to sure someone.
More power to Jessica to do this. Don't cross her or she will make sure you pay. Most people have the common sense to NOT CARE about internet haters and trolls, and even if you take offense from them (which is dumb) up to seven years in prison? How can anyone feel that random insults on the internet is reason enough to lock someone up for seven years? She is, as she almost always does, overreacting. You understand that she is not deciding the sentence, but courts do that based on the laws created by lawmakers. Complain about South Korea laws that have such high sentences for this. Yes but she knows what might be in store for him and despite this she presses the issue instead of just telling herself "oh well haters gonna hate." And a store owner should let all thieves go that "just stole a candy bar", because jeez it's only one fucking candy bar? That's a silly argument, it's not the same thing. Random haters on the internet aren't doing any damage by acting childish, you just sigh, ban the guy and move on, thats all there is to it.
Oh of course they are doing damage. Real, even monetary damage. They lower the quality of your stream chat, forums and platforms. Thats tangible damage to your business. That is why TotalBiscuit only has chat enabled for paying subscribers.

It's been going great thus far.
As the mentally healthy being I am, I don't let random people on the internet get to me. seriously, how old are you?????? if somebody "harassed incessantly and viciously online" your sister or girlfriend, you would SERIOUSLY tell her to grow a pair, and in fact, "that's what you've been doing" there's a huge difference between harassment and "random stuff from internet getting to me" I'm almost 19 years old. Why would I care on behalf of my sister if someone on the internet, possibly thousands of miles away, who's probably 15 years old, is using vulgar language? You know what I'd do-- I'd tell me sister to block the silly bastard and tell her about life. I'd tell her not to pay attention and be a better person. But you know what else? Even if I did have a sister, I know she'd be smarter than that. I know she'd not pay attention to silly stuff on the internet -- and you know why? Because it's silly. well, 19 is way over enough to understand difference between harassment and "using vulgar language", right? you don't sue people for using vulgar language, not even in the states. but you do sue them for harassment, even in third world countries. so, please learn the difference... No, I don't. Just because you would be so premature to sue someone for insulting you or harassing you on the Internet it does not mean that everyone else would. I wouldn't, I'm smarter than that, and it saddens me to see how many people would go this far to "make an example" on the internet. You will not accomplish anything, ever. Had it been real life, I'd care, then I would consider it serious, the internet is not. Additionally, I'm 99.9% certain that the guy wouldn't behave the way he did had it been in real life. This should emphasize my point. Spare us your condescension, thanks. 19 year old who's smarter than everyone; where have I heard that before? How ironic. ;-) actually it is not, two out of your three posts contained you glorifying your intelligence and big heart. it's kinda silly, that's why that aussie guy quoted you with LOL, but i just didn't wanna be mean and point it out... oh well I'm not glorifying anything. I'm not saying I'm better than you, I'm saying I'm better than going about sueing people for insulting or harassing me on the internet, considering I don't actually do so. I personally don't think it's silly of me to not give in to this kind of behaviour. Additionally, I could say the same to you, that I think you're silly for being willing to sue people for harassing you on the internet, when you could get rid of them in an instant. Why is that wrong of me? "I'm not saying I'm better than you, I'm just saying I'm better at being a person than you."
If you don't have anything intelligent to say, I suggest you stop replying back to me.

Obviously Jessica is an overreacting and oversensitive person, so the troll on the other side obviously knew he was playing with fire, so full props to him: he got what he wanted. Congrats to him!
If you're going to use a real life analogy, you have to use mail. Like the things people used send to each other in envelopes. Because before the internet, that's how you would send messages to people.
Sending a message is not the same thing as going to someone's house and yelling at them.

Look, not defending the guy, but what did Jessica expect really?
She wants to be the media/main person at Slayers, of course people will have mixed reactions. It's internet, guys get that a lot, too. May be they don't go around suing, because they understand what internet is. I don't know how it is in Korea, but in other places, people say anything they want over the internet.
I'd say leave the job if you are that sensitive.

police actually comes to your door for hate mail, or threats written in a mail, if you're dumb enough to let them track you. especially if it's more than one letter, which this was, if we go with the analogy...
meaning, you can actually get a court order that orders you not to have contact with that person ever again, or else...

Considering that I'm sharing my point of view, yes, I think it's fair of me to be self-centered. Perhaps you don't understand that.
PS: It appears you don't understand anything of what I've said. I'm not arguing with anyone, I'm sharing my opinion, and I did it once until someone disagreed and I apparently had to explain myself until the guy felt the need to tell me I'm a bad person for being "cool" on this matter.
