Will the players be able to play on the KR server? He's tried to qualify for GSL before but didn't make it. He's on the cusp as of now. Should I even bother telling him about this offer?

Only question is that has been... sort of vague(maybe only to me?) what equipment in particular does the House supply? Will it be a Bring Your Own Computer sort of thing? I'm assuming it isn't.

We can't all just get accepted to the Gom House and move there. Only question is that has been... sort of vague(maybe only to me?) what equipment in particular does the House supply? Will it be a Bring Your Own Computer sort of thing? I'm assuming it isn't. If you want to bring your own PC, you can, and I would even prefer that. If you can't, then obviously I will make the necessary arrangements. Since we're working with Razer, all other gear will be provided. On March 22 2012 03:50 Tbeezy wrote: Whens the deadilne to apply? Like when will you be making your final decision? I will be sending an application but for the UC schools here in California finals week is still going on till the end of the week. So i was hoping to accomplish this over spring break. But if thats too late that would really suck. Please let me know. Thank You Since we'll be cycling players, there's no real deadline. As I've said, I know who two of the players are already, and will likely decide on a third soon. Don't be sad if you don't make it in. There will be opportunities to come train, even if you're not living here, and there will be a constant stream of new players in as old players cycle out.

I can try to answer your question, if you feel that my answer is sufficient. For some people, it's all about the environment in which you work/play. I'll give you an example: I can only exercise at home for about 30-45 minutes before I get distracted and stop exercising altogether. When I am at the gym, I can keep going for at least an hour longer. The same thing could apply to Starcraft players. Some feel that they aren't able to commit to playing 6-8 hours per day due to the distractions of everyday life (roommates, family, work, school, etc.), or they just can't keep playing more than 5-10 games before losing their enthusiasm to play during a session. They feel that they need a specific work environment in order to commit more time to doing a specific task (i.e. Starcraft 2). That is what Mr. Bitter is offering: A specific work environment (boot camp) that allows you to commit a significant amount of your time to playing and improving. You don't have to worry about paying rent, or buying groceries, or what you have to write about for your next college essay. If the only thing there is to do around the house is play Starcraft all day, everyday, then you will probably play a lot of Starcraft. If you are surrounded by high-level Starcraft players who want to improve, then you will also probably want to improve, so that you aren't embarrassed from the difference in skill. I know I missed a few other points of staying at the house, but this is just one perspective - the work environment. If some people feel like they don't absolutely need what is being offered in order to improve at Starcraft, then kudos to them; they won't need to attend the Razer house in order to "go pro". Like Mr. Bitter said: On March 22 2012 01:08 MrBitter wrote: If you feel that you can achieve whatever goals you have without trying to be a part of the Razer house, then by all means, don't apply. If you feel that regulated practice in a regimented environment amongst other players with similar goals will not help you, then don't apply. Another thing is that you would be getting more exposure among the Starcraft community through streaming, vlogging, and casting. This allows potential prospects to be noticed by progaming teams. It allows you to have your voice heard (or gameplay seen) by the teams who might be interested in adding a new player to their team.

Side note; You could probably charge 500$ for a week in that house, for people who want to play a lot and hang with fellow gamers, even though they might not necessarily be rising stars. If at least part of the concept is providing content, then I would assume there would be room for relative noobs too. Had the house been in Europe, the idea of paying only 200$ for a week would be such a steal I would have ditched whatever other vacation plans I might have had.

Whenever I daydream of winning big in the lottery or whatever, doing something like this just seems like the thing to do. I won't be good enough to join the house, but best of luck to whoever end up going, I will be following this. If I open a room to people it will be between $100-$250 weekly. But this part of the house is still very much up in the air.

Criminal, yes, just saying you would still find interested people. I will take energy drinks and sweaty nerds over most hotels, any day. ![]() As you said, it's up in the air, but do you see that possible spot as open to whoever pays, or would it still be chosen based on x criteria? Again, good luck, no doubt this will turn out great.

It's going to be a rotation of 3-5 months (possibly longer) of 3 players in the house at a time. Granted if someone changes their minds or drops out a spot becomes immediately open. My advice: best to just submit your application if you're interested, and they will have it on record. Then you can update it with new self achievements, replays, etc. Show them some progress of your improvement so they are inclined to pick you.

Right I just wanted to know if there was an announced timeline for the first batch of applicants. that's all No deadline doesn't mean there won't be a rough timeline

If we are unable to bring our own computer would the computer you provide be of good enough caliber to play SC2 flawlessly? Seems like a stupid question but I thought I'd ask to make sure.
